The Rock announced that the sale of the XFL to him and his partners is now officially closed and “the keys have been handed over.”
The deal is official closed and “the keys” to the XFL have been handed over. I humbly accept and promise to put my callouses to hard work building our new brand. The Rock, his business partner Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital Partners bought the XFL for $15 million earlier this month.
There was initially opposition to the sale in court by the XFL’s creditors, but at a hearing earlier this month, the creditors were satisfied with the terms of a modified agreement for the league’s purchase and dropped their opposition, so the deal was allowed to go through.
