SummerSlam Reportedly Taking Place at Amway Center in Orlando, TV Tapings May Also Move There

WWE has reportedly abandoned their plans for SummerSlam to take place in the north east and the tentative plan is for the show to now take place at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL, according to Dave Meltzer.

The 18,000 seat indoor arena is the home of the Orlando Magic NBA team.

No official announcement has been made yet, but WWE should announce something soon with the PPV coming up in a little over a week on August 23.

At one point, WWE was eyeing Atlantic City as a possible SummerSlam location, but that looks like it has fallen through. There was also a pitch for the show to take place on a cruise ship or beach, according to PWInsider.

WWE is also considering moving to the Amway Center for future Raw and SmackDown shows going forward, PWInsider says.

There will reportedly still not be any real fans at the much bigger arena, but the usual Performance Center recruits are expected to be there.

WWE is also reportedly considering the idea of adding virtual fans in the seats for SummerSlam and future shows, according to PWInsider, similar to FOX’s idea for broadcasts of MLB games.
