As noted before, Bruce Prichard has been in charge of WWE’s merged creative teams for RAW and SmackDown since the removal of Paul Heyman from his Executive Director of RAW role this past June. Prior to his promotion, Prichard had been the Executive Director of SmackDown.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ed Koskey is currently the lead writer of WWE’s unified creative team while Prichard remains in charge of overseeing the team and implementing all creative decisions from Vince McMahon. Prichard also reportedly works with other departments in the company to ensure merchandising, network partners, and promotional people are all in the loop for creative plans.
Meltzer also reported that Prichard and Kevin Dunn have been the ones primarily responsible for being in contact with USA Network and FOX and WWE’s new President Nick Khan may also end up sharing those duties within the near future.
Meltzer also reported that NXT’s lead writer Joe Belcastro has recently left the company. Within NXT, Johnny Russo and Gabe Sapolsky reportedly are currently believed to have more creative influence on the brand following Belcastro’s departure. Triple H stated during this past Wednesday’s NXT TakeOver media call that he, “Road Dogg” Brian James, and Shawn Michaels are the current lead members of NXT’s creative team.
