Gerald Brisco Cut by Vince McMahon, More Office Cuts by WWE Today

WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco, who has worked for WWE in a backstage role since 1984, has been let go by Vince McMahon.

“Last night I received a call from WWE Chairman of the Board Vince McMahon to let me know after 36 years of dedication to WWE that I am no longer needed,” Brisco tweeted. “I’m OK with this. I will still be around to help talent.”

Other employees have also been cut by WWE today, according to PWInsider, who said that “there have been departures all across the board, with live events and travel departments hit hard” because of WWE cutting back on travel and house shows during the pandemic.

In recent weeks, WWE has been bringing back some employees who were furloughed in April. Many of the people who were let go today are the people who were furloughed and hadn’t been brought back yet, PWInsider says.

As of now, there’s no word of any wrestlers being released.
