WWE reportedly has been working on plans for some time for a potential new television series for their NXT brand, according to Fightful.
Sean Ross Sapp reported that WWE officials have been working on plans for a new NXT television series since last year and even filmed a pilot episode at the WWE Performance Center during the Summer of 2019.
Sapp reported that the show had been in the planning stages this past September, prior to the coronavirus outbreak in the US.
This new potential series had the tentative name, “NXT Underground” although the name was made well before RAW Underground’s existence and would not be anything similar.
The new series reportedly was planned to feature unused NXT talent and the company’s recently signed EVOLVE talent.
Sapp reported that it is currently not known if WWE’s recent coronavirus outbreak has affected the status of these plans.
