WWE Reportedly Edited and Re-Shot Content for SmackDown’s Christmas Episode

Friday’s Christmas Day episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown was not aired live and instead was taped this past Tuesday.

At least two known notable edits were made prior to the show’s airing on Friday with one involving a match being re-shot and another involving a botched moment being removed.

Fightful Select reported (via Sportskeeda.com) that the Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso match was re-shot during SmackDown’s taping on Tuesday due to WWE officials not being happy over Brayn’s selling during a spot in the match. It was reported that Bryan was given special instructions to sell Uso’s attack more and the ThunderDome audience was put on a commercial break spot for some time in order to re-shoot that part of the match.

Besides a match re-shoot, WWE officials also had a botched moment from Sasha Banks edited out of the final cut of the episode. Sportskeeda reported that this moment involved Banks accidentally dropping her SmackDown Women’s Championship before the start of the Women’s Tag Team Championship match. This led to Bayley laughing afterwards which was also removed from the final cut of the episode
