As noted before, WWE is currently working on plans to launch a new NXT India brand in January of 2021. The company is also currently in the early stages on plans for an additional new NXT brand that would act as a minor league type system for NXT itself.
WrestlingInc.com reported that WWE is also currently working on plans for a new Lucha-based NXT brand that would act as a NXT Mexico of sorts. It was reported that this new NXT show is currently planned to air weekly in the United States.
It was also reported that WWE officials have recently spoken with a few people to gauge their interest in running this new brand. One of those people reportedly was Chavo Guerrero Jr., who has past experience as being an agent and one of the key people who helped run Lucha Underground.
One of WrestlingInc’s sources reportedly compared this new NXT project to WCW Telemundo’s “Festival de Lucha” pilot show that was taped in January 27, 1999 but never aired on television.
