Paul Wight Says He’ll Announce a New “Hall of Fame-Worthy” AEW Signing at Revolution

“The Big Show” Paul Wight made his AEW debut tonight on Dynamite and announced that this Sunday at Revolution, AEW will announce the signing of a “Hall of Fame-worthy talent that is a huge surprise and a huge asset to AEW.”

“I have the biggest scoop ever!” he said while being interviewed by Tony Schiavone on the AEW stage. “This Sunday at Revolution, AEW is going to hire – put in contract – a Hall of Fame-worthy talent that is a huge surprise and a huge asset to AEW. It’s not who you think. But this Sunday, you’re gonna find out who it is and I want you to know that I knew who it was first. Tune in and find out who we get.”

AEW later announced that Wight will be the one making the announcement this Sunday at Revolution.

On the AEW Restricted podcast after Dynamite, Tony Khan added this:

Paul Wight told you that you’re not going to be the only one with these scoops around here anymore, and he’s gonna break some scoops too, and I’ve given him a big scoop. He told the world, and it’s true, that there’s going to be a big star signed with AEW. And he’s coming here, and that’s absolutely true what Paul said. This Sunday, a major star in the world of wrestling, a huge, huge star is going to come and sign a multi-year contract with AEW on Sunday at the pay-per-view. I can confirm what Paul said is true, and I’m not talking about the person in the ladder match. We have a great, fun sixth person in the ladder match, but the person who I’m saying is going to come and sign a multi-year contract with AEW, the person Paul referenced, that’s not the sixth person in the ladder match. Paul’s talking about a big surprise, and that’s no joke. What he said to you I can confirm is true.

Who do you think it is? Some guesses that have been thrown around by fans on the internet are CM Punk, Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Batista, Rob Van Dam, Christian, Mark Henry and Brock Lesnar.
