Impact Wrestling News & Notes – Potential Return of Fans, New Announcer, Josh Alexander & W. Morrissey Contracts Status

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio had Impact Wrestling Co-Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore as the guest. One of the topics discussed included the company’s current plans for the return of fans for their shows.

“It’s been a constant process on when it’ll be safe and doable. On our end, we’re always going to lean towards caution. We’d rather be a day late than a day early. We continue to monitor it and look at it. It’d be great to say by the fall or by August, but we just don’t know. We are making plans. I was off in some locations last week looking at new places to run shows and have re-established relationships with venues. It’s an ongoing process.”

Russian streaming service RUTUBE recently announced that former WWE wrestler Vladimir Kozlov will be the lead Russian language commentator for Impact Wrestling’s television shows and events on the service.

During a recent interview with the “Da” Podcast, Josh Alexander revealed that his current contract with Impact Wrestling is a per date type deal. Alexander stated “And not to disparage any of these guys but when I started wrestling, Bobby Roode, Eric Young, Petey Williams, all these guys, they got signed to TNA and they were on exclusive deals. So they couldn’t do independent shows freely. So they couldn’t give back. I’m luckily on a per date deal with IMPACT so I can do whatever I want.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)

This past Sunday’s Rebellion event featured the official Impact Wrestling debut of W. Morrissey, former Big Cass in WWE. Fightful Select reported that Morrissey recently signed an official contract with the company and will be a member of their roster for the “foreseeable future.”
