More on WWE NXT Viewership for May 11

The May 11th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT suffer a sizeable decline in overall viewership and key demographic ratings.

NXT drew 697,000 viewers and a #25 ranking in the 18-49 demographic on USA Network.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this week’s overall viewership and key demographic viewership were both the lowest since NXT’s official move to Tuesdays on the USA Network. In regards to head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics on TNT drew 960,000 viewers and a 0.32 key demographic rating while the MLB game of New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays on ESPN drew 514,000 viewers and a 0.13 key demographic rating.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 214,000 viewers. NXT’s sole increase was with their Males 18-34 group at 3.4% higher than last week’s show. NXT’s biggest decrease was with their Females 18-34 group at 24% lower than last week’s show.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was up 15.4% in overall viewership and up 13.3% in demographic viewership.

WWE NXT started off with around 651,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Pete Dunne promo segment and the Dunne vs. Leon Ruff match which gained 83,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Zoey Stark vignette segment and the Kyle O’Reilly vs. Oney Lorcan match which lost 57,000 viewers. NXT’s overrun gained an additional 21,000 viewers to end the night.


More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for May 12

The May 12th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW suffer a noticeable decline in overall viewership.

AEW drew 936,000 viewers and a 0.31 key demographic rating. AEW’s key demographic ranking is currently not known due to Showbuzz Daily recently suffering a serious technical-related issue on their website.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this week’s key demographic numbers were the lowest ever for an unopposed show in AEW Dynamite history. Meltzer reported that while AEW’s 18-34 demographic viewership was up compared to last week’s Blood & Guts themed show, AEW overall viewership decline was mainly caused by the huge declines in their 35-49 demographic groups. Meltzer speculated that the 2021 NFL Schedule Release show on ESPN and NFL Network likely contributed to AEW’s declines in their male key demographic viewership this week.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 398,000 viewers. AEW’s sole increase was with their Females 18-34 group at 15.4% higher than last week’s show. AEW’s biggest decrease was with their Females 35-49 group at 48.6% lower than last week’s show.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was up 43.1% in overall viewership and up 35.4% in key demographic viewership.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 938,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was TNT Championship match of Miro vs. Darby Allin which gained 112,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Britt Baker interview segment, the Thunder Rosa vs. Jazmin Allure match, and the Allin pre-match promo video which lost 99,000 viewers.
