Orange Cassidy Injured on Dynamite, Match Ended Early

Orange Cassidy suffered an injury during his match against Pac on Dynamite tonight, forcing the match to be ended early.

According to PWInsider, the match was originally booked to go to a 20 minute time limit draw, which would have led to the same result of both Cassidy and Pac facing Kenny Omega in a three-way match for the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing.

Instead, once Cassidy was injured, a call was made to end the match early at around the 13 minute point. Omega ran out and nailed Pac with the AEW Championship belt and Pac and Cassidy were both down for a ten count, with the ref calling it a no contest. It’s not clear if Omega was originally scheduled to interfere in the match, but it would make sense if he was.

Cassidy appeared to be shaken up after taking a hard powerbomb from Pac. Afterwards, he stayed down for a while until the ref went over to check on him. He eventually rolled to the outside and stayed there for most of a commercial break. Once they returned from commercial, Cassidy stayed down in the ring and Omega came out for the finish.

In apparently good news though, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that Cassidy was said to be “okay” backstage after the match.
