Orlando, FL – Capitol Wrestling Center

NXT – July 27 Episode

Pete Dunne & Oney Lorcan defeated Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher – An attempted comeback by Ciampa and Thatcher is thwarted by the returning Ridge Holland.

In-Ring: Samoa Joe, William Regal – Samoa Joe will return to face Karrion Kross for the NXT title at Takeover 36. Joe invited Regal to the ring, resigned as NXT management and asked Regal to sign a contract for the title match, which he did. Satisfied, Joe left holding the contract. Takeover is set for Aug. 22, SummerSlam weekend.

Breakout Tournament: Carmelo Hayes defeated Josh Briggs with a top-rope leg drop to the back.

In-Ring: Raquel Gonzalez, Dakota Kai – Dakota Kai attacks Raquel Gonzalez and leaves her laying.

Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter defeated Franky Monet & Jessi Kamea when Robert Stone’s attempted interference backfires. Monet gets angry and drags Stone to the back.

Imperium defeated Hit Row – Legado del Fantasma distracts Hit Row, allowing Imperium to get the win.

Adam Cole defeated Bronson Reed with two Last Shots. Kyle O’Reilly attacks Cole with a chair afterward and leaves him laying to end next week’s show.

Backstage: Indi Hartwell, Candice LeRae, Johnny Gargano – Indi Hartwell gets a gift…a drawing from Dexter Lumis. She is touched, Gargano and LeRae are upset. Sets up Gargano vs. Lumis…if Johnny wins, Lumis must stop chasing Hartwell.

NXT – August 3 Episode

Ridge Holland defeated Ikemen Jiro in a squash. He was accompanied by Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. After the match, Pete Dunne cuts a promo on Ciampa/Thatcher.

Roderick Strong defeated Bobby Fish – A long match, and fittingly great for two guys who know each other so well.

Grizzled Young Veterans defeated LA Knight & Cameron Grimes – Knight walks out on Grimes, who fights valiantly but loses. Really fun match and angle. Ted DiBiase comes to the ring, consoles Grimes and leaves with him.

Breakout Tournament: Trey Baxter defeated Joe Gacy – Really good work for an exhausted crowd.

Hit Row defeated Legado del Fantasma via DQ when Escobar (on the outside) used a chair. Afterward, they attacked Swerve Scott with a chair until HR recovered. Either a 6-man or Swerve vs. Escobar is the obvious direction.

In-Ring: Karrion Kross, Samoa Joe – Karrion Kross promo…Samoa Joe comes out to confront him but is held back by security. Joe beats up several guards but Kross checks out, leaving Joe frustrated.

Love Her or Lose Her: Johnny Gargano defeated Dexter Lumis with one final beat to the outside and another to the inside. Indi starts to leave distraught, then runs in to kiss Lumis, the two make out in the ring and leave together.

In-Ring (Possible Re-Tape): Karrion Kross, Samoa Joe – Kross runs out and calls out Joe again…Joe again chokes out security. Feels like a retape of the earlier angle. That’s the end of the night.

205 Live – July 30 Episode

Drake Maverick defeated Asher Hale – Drake was selling a shoulder injury most of the way and was ridiculously good at it.

Leon Ruff defeated Grayson Waller – This got a “This is awesome” chant and it was very, very good.

205 Live – August 6 Episode

Kushida defeated Ari Sterling – Good match.
