Rosa was under contract with the NWA “through 2021,” NWA owner Billy Corgan said last year, but she was able to work dates for AEW without officially signing with them full time.
In a tweet after her AEW signing, NWA wished her well in “the next chapter in her journey,” indicating that she may no longer be under contract with the NWA.
She’ll always be #NWAFam for a lot of us, but we want to send love to @thunderrosa22 and wish her well in the next chapter of her journey.
Go show ’em all what we already know. π€π€π https://t.co/sZxNujc1NO

It was reported last October that both AEW and WWE had interest in signing her.
Rosa debuted for AEW on the August 22, 2020 Dynamite.
