More on WWE NXT Viewership for August 24th

The August 24th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT gain a small increase in both overall viewership and key demographic ratings.

NXT drew 685,000 viewers and a 0.16 key demographic rating on USA Network. NXT’s key demographic ranking for that night was 27th place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this week’s NXT show managed to not suffer from being taped beforehand and spoilers being available online, especially in its key demographic viewership which was up 2.5% compared to last week’s live show.

Meltzer reported that a notable incident occurred during this week’s NXT tapings where a reporter was removed from the Performance Center over WWE officials being upset that spoilers were being leaked online. This person worked for an online wrestling news website that posted the results from the show but another reporter who worked for a local newspaper was tweeting out live spoilers but was not kicked out. The person who was kicked out stated on Twitter that WWE did not require those attending to sign a NDA in order to prevent leaks from being release and had issued vague rules regarding the tapings.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 205,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest increase was with their Females 35-49 group at 50% higher than last week’s show. NXT’s sole decrease was with their Males 35-49 group at 12.6% lower than last week’s show.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was down 20.6% in overall viewership and down 32.8% in key demographic viewership.

WWE NXT started off with around 654,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Samoa Joe, Pete Dunne, LA Knight, Kylie O’Reilly promo and brawl with Ridge Holland, Oney Lorcan, Danny Birch, & Tommaso Ciampa segment, the Ted DiBiase & Cameron Grimes parking lot segment, and the O’Reilly & Duke Hudson backstage brawl segment which gained 70,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the bulk of the Hit Row vs. Legado del Fantasma 6-man tag team match which lost 64,000 viewers. NXT’s overrun gained an additional 40,000 viewers to end the night.


More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for August 25th

The August 25th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a large increase in both overall viewership and key demographic ratings.

AEW drew 1,172,000 viewers and a 0.48 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for this week’s show was 1st place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this week’s AEW show generated the second highest ever key demographic rating in Dynamite history. It was also the third largest key demographic rating in AEW history, only behind Dynamite’s October 2, 2019 debut episode and Rampage’s August 20, 2021 episode which featured CM Punk’s official AEW debut. Meltzer reported that the bulk of AEW’s gains this week came from their older key demographic viewers. Meltzer also reported that the quarter hour that featured CM Punk’s interview was the third highest for overall viewership and second highest for key demographic viewership for this week’s show.

In terms of the one million viewership milestone, Meltzer reported that all eight quarter hours of this week’s show averaged over one million viewers each. The highest was the first quarter at around 1,241,000 viewers and the lowest was the main event eighth quarter at around 1,088,000 viewers.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 620,000 viewers. All four of AEW’s key demographic groups increased with the biggest being their Females 35-49 group at 68% higher than last week’s show.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was up 44.2% in overall viewership and up 64.9% in key demographic viewership.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 1,241,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Lucha Brothers vs. Varsity Blonds match and post-match brawl with the Young Bucks and the Andrade video promo segment which gained 81,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Chris Jericho & MJF promo segment which lost 95,000 viewers.


More on AEW Rampage Viewership for August 20th

The August 20th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW gained a very large increase in both over viewership and key demographic ratings. That week’s episode was notable for featuring the official AEW debut of CM Punk.

AEW Rampage drew 1,129,000 viewers and a 0.53 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for this week’s show was 2nd place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW’s Rampage show that week managed to generated the 2nd highest ever key demographic rating in AEW history and one that very likely will be a huge outlier to Rampage’s key demographic ratings average going forward.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 697,000 viewers. All four of NXT’s key demographic groups increased with the biggest being their Females 35-49 group at 150% higher than last week’s show.

AEW Rampage started off with around 1,341,000 viewers and had 1,135,000 viewers for its second quarter, 1,005,000 viewers for its third quarter, and 1,037,000 viewers for its main event quarter featuring that Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia match.
