NXT Spoilers for August 24th Episode & Spoilers for Two Weeks of Episodes for 205 Live

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that WWE taped two episodes for their 205 Live and one episode for their NXT brand this past Monday at the Performance Center.

In regards to NXT, the episode that was taped was for the August 24th episode that will air later tonight on USA Network.

Spoilers for August 27th episode of 205 Live:

  • Drake Maverick was on commentary for the opening match.
  • Match 1 – Grayson Waller defeated Andre Chase. Waller was the face for this match.
  • Match 2 – Ikemen Jiro defeated Trey Baxter via small package after countering a springboard 450 splash.

Spoilers for September 3rd episode of 205 Live:

  • Match 1 – Amari Miller defeated Cora Jade.
  • Match 2 – Joe Gacy defeated Josh Briggs.

Spoilers for August 24th episode of NXT:

  • Ted DiBiase and Cameron Grimes start off the show with a celebration for Grimes’ Million Dollar Championship victory over LA Knight from Sunday’s TakeOver 36 event.
  • Match 1 – Ridge Holland (with Pete Dunne) defeated Timothy Thatcher (with Tommaso Ciampa) via Northern Grit. After the match, all four men started to brawl with Oney Lorcan and then a returning Danny Burch coming out to make it a four-on-two situation with Dunne’s group standing tall in the end.
  • Backstage segment with Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis. They announced that their wedding will take place on the September 14th episode of NXT
  • Match 2 – Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter defeated Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne via Neckbreaker and 450 Splash combo.
  • Backstage segment with NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez cutting a promo on Kay Lee Ray. Gonzalez’s promo is interrupted by Franky Monet, Jessi Kamea, and Robert Stone who talk about taking the NXT Women’s title from Gonzalez.
  • Match 3 – Kay Lee Ray defeated Valentina Feroz.
  • In-ring segment with NXT Champion Samoa Joe. Joe cuts a promo about his title win over Karrion Kross at Sunday’s TakeOver 36 event and asks who will be his first challenger. Pete Dunne, LA Knight, and Kyle O’Reilly all come out to stake their claim for a title match. Ridge Holland sneak attacks O’Reilly causing a big brawl to occur. Tommaso Ciampa comes out and goes after Dunne and Holland. Joe and Ciampa are in the ring and stare down Holland and Dunne on the ramp to end the segment.
  • Match 4 – 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament Finals – Carmelo Hayes defeated Odyssey Jones via Jackknife pin.
  • After the match, Haynes is interviewed with William Regal. Hayes praised Jones and stated that it is too early for him to decide which title he will go after and instead wants to celebrate his tournament victory.
  • Backstage segment with Pete Dunne, One Lorcan, Danny Burch, and Ridge Holland. Holland threats to put Tommaso Ciampa on the shelf just like he did with Timothy Thatcher.
  • Match 5 – Xyon Quinn defeated Boa after Boa was distracted by Mei Ying.
  • Backstage segment with William Regal and Johnny Gargano. Gargano asks Regal to call off the wedding between Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis. LA Knight interrupts and all three yell at each other to end the segment.
  • Backstage segment with Malcolm Bivens and Roderick Strong. Bivens cuts a promo with Strong training in the background. Bivens stated that Strong will have an open challenge on next week’s show and claims that Strong is the uncrowned Cruiserweight Champion.
  • Ad promo announces Ridge Holland vs. Tommaso Ciampa for next week’s show.
  • Match 6 – Legado del Fantasma defeated Hit Row with Santos Escobar pinning Isiah “Swerve” Scott. Near the end of the match, B-Fab attacked Escobar while the referee was distracted. A unknown woman came out afterwards to attack B-Fab with a weapon.
