AEW Rampage Broadcasting Update for Canada & International Viewers

As noted before, AEW has been in negotiations for international television deals regarding their upcoming new weekly AEW Rampage series.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that AEW Rampage will not be airing on TSN’s cable television channels in Canada and instead will air live weekly on Fridays on their website and TSN Direct streaming service.

In regards to non-Latin American international markets, Post Wrestling’s John Pollock reported that Rampage will air live weekly on FITE TV’s AEW Plus streaming service for international viewers.

In regards to the Latin American market, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported in Monday’s Update that AEW recently signed a new deal with television network Space Channel. Meltzer reported that as part of terms of the deal, FITE TV will be dropping their live international subscription service for the market starting on September 6th due to Space Channel having exclusive broadcasting rights for AEW shows. Meltzer also reported that it is currently not known if Space Channel will be airing AEW Rampage on their network.


MLW News & Notes

Major League Wrestling announced that they have recently signed Arez to a multi-year contract with the company.

During a recent interview with the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Davey Richards revealed that his current contract with MLW is one-year in length. Richards stated “Yep, yep. I have signed with them [MLW] for a calendar year and then we’re gonna re-talk about things towards the end of that. But I mean yeah, I foresee myself being there for a while man. MLW recently announced a new match for the card of their MLW Fusion television taping on September 11th in North Richland Hills, Texas:

  • War Chamber match – The Von Erichs (Marshall & Ross Von Erich) & TBA vs. Team Filthy (“Filthy” Tom Lawlor, Dominic Garrini, Kevin Ku, King Mo, & Kit Osbourne)

Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

The National Wrestling Alliance announced that Debbie Malenko and Bianca Carelli are the next official entrants for their Women’s Invitational Cup battle royal match at their upcoming NWA Empowerrr event on August 28th in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that the early ticket sales for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s upcoming NJPW Strong tapings on September 25-26 in Garland, Texas have been very weak. Meltzer reported that under 150 tickets have been sold for each night as of this past Monday.

NJPW recently announced a new stipulation for the Provisional King of Pro Wrestling 2021 Championship match at their upcoming Wrestle Grand Slam 2021 event on September 4th in Saitama, Japan. It was announced that Chase Owens will be defending his title against Toru Yano under Texas Strap Match rules.

Revolution Pro Wrestling announced that NJPW’s talent Yota Tsuji will be working for the company for his excursion phase of development starting on September 4th.

Former WWE talent Buddy Murphy recently released two teaser videos on Twitter teasing the upcoming debut of a new character for his wrestling career going forward.
