AEW Rampage will move to a rotating commentary team, according to the Wrestling Observer.
In an interview on Monday with the WrestleTalk Podcast, Ricky Starks, who replaced Mark Henry on commentary on this past Friday’s Rampage episode, said that he was replacing Henry permanently.
“I am definitely proud of AEW, the work that I’ve done in AEW, and the work that I continue to do,” Starks said. “And the fact that I think so much that they appreciate me that they made me a permanent commentator for Rampage, replacing Mark.”
But according to the Observer, he won’t be permanently replacing Henry, and the commentary team will instead be “rotating.” It remains to be seen exactly what that will mean, but it seems likely that the team may now consist of Excalibur, Taz, Chris Jericho and a guest commentator.
It’s unclear if Mark Henry has been permanently removed from the commentary team. He did his usual backstage interview segment before the main event this past Friday, so he may stick to doing backstage interviews from now on.
