As noted before, Vince McMahon and Executive Director Bruce Prichard are currently expected to become more involved with WWE’s NXT brand going forward.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources within WWE stated that all of the recent major rebranding and new direction decisions being made for NXT have been done by those outside of Triple H and his NXT circle. NXT’s new logo reportedly was made with no input given from NXT officials.
Meltzer reported that his sources also stated that the main people in charge of NXT going forward will be McMahon, Prichard, WWE President Nick Khan, WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, and WWE Executive Producer Kevin Dunn.
In regards to the weekly booking of NXT, Meltzer reported that his sources stated that WWE officials held a recent meeting with NXT talent and staff to inform them that the stories of McMahon and Prichard directly producing weekly NXT shows are not true. Despite not being hands-on with weekly creative, Meltzer reported that both will still have a very influential role in regards to who will be getting pushed and protected in NXT and roster cuts to be made going forward.
