WWE Announces “The Rock Month” Celebrations for WWE Network & NBC Peacock for November

WWE recently announced that they will be holding a special “The Rock Month” themed celebrations on the WWE Network and NBC Peacock throughout the month of November.

This themed month will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson debut in WWE. The Rock made his official televised debut at the WWF Survivor Series 1996 event on November 17, 1996 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Johnson debuted under the ring name of Rocky Maivia and teamed with Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Marc Mero, & Barry Windham in a Four-on-Four Survivor Series Elimination match against Jerry “The King” Lawler, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Goldust, & Crush.


AJ Styles Status Update

AJ Styles has been noticeably absent from WWE’s RAW brand these past couple of weeks. During his current absence, his tag team partner Omos has feuded with both the Street Profits and RK-Bro.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources within WWE stated that the reason for Styles’ recent absence is due to him currently dealing with a “non-injury medical issue.” No other details were given regarding the nature of Styles’ current medical issue nor a potential timetable for his return.


Monday’s WWE RAW Backstage News & Notes

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the card for next week’s episode of RAW is currently expected to feature a 6-Man Tag Team match of Damian Priest & RK-Bro vs. Bobby Lashley, Omos, & AJ Styles and a singles match between Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch based on a recent local advertisement.

Johnson reported that WWE did not invite any NXT talent for dark match tryouts prior to the start of Monday’s episode of RAW.

In regards to absent talent, Johnson reported that Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, and Karrion Kross were not seen backstage during last night’s show.

Johnson also reported that both Petey Williams and James Yun, former Jimmy Yang, were seen backstage working as producers during the show.
