Hangman Page Comments on Wanting to Work with Brodie Lee in AEW Prior to His Passing

A recent episode of the Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette podcast had Hangman Adam Page as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Page revealing that he was working on an idea to potentially feud with Brodie Lee in AEW prior to Lee’s passing in December of 2020.

“I wanted to. A lot of times it feels like what I’m thinking or want to work towards, might not be what that person is thinking or what Tony is thinking, but I’ll do a BTE scene and plant a seed and see what kind of reaction it gets. In almost 99 out of 100 cases, I’m pretty confident in the seeds that I plant and the reaction they are going to get. I know that’s going to drive where the story goes on TV as well. That’s what this company is, let’s be honest. AEW exists because of something like Being The Elite where we could have these stupid ass storylines that Ring of Honor and New Japan started influencing the actual wrestling shows or, in a lot of cases, were more popular than the wrestling shows. I remember wrestling in Ring of Honor and people would chant stuff about our BTE storyline. It’s why AEW exists, because of those things. I was planting seeds to do something with Brodie because I really wanted to. When he was ill, there were points where I felt like, ‘should I keep going in this direction?’ It felt like it would have been a disservice to him and all Dark Order, who are incredible people, to not keep going in the only way it made sense, regardless of where we ended up with it. I’m very glad we did that.”
