Keith Lee has been “talked about” as a possible signing within AEW and may have even already agreed to a deal, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Following his WWE release in November, Lee’s 90 day non-compete clause expired this week and he’s officially free to sign anywhere.
Prior to his WWE signing in 2018, Lee was one of the most exciting indie stars in the world, but the general consensus is that he was largely hindered in the WWE system and his skills didn’t appear to translate well there. AEW’s style is almost certainly a better fit for him, though he’s now a few years older and dealt with a life-threatening COVID-related heart issue that kept him out for a big chunk of 2021.
