Cody Rhodes’ planned WrestleMania opponent is Seth Rollins, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
But as of now, Cody has apparently not yet signed a WWE deal and the match is reportedly on hold.
WWE’s initial creative plans were for Rhodes to debut within the next week or so to set up a WrestleMania match with Rollins, but the creative team was told last week to hold off on those plans until Cody signs a contract.
Talks were still ongoing during this past week, the Observer says, and Cody could still debut imminently.
Prior to last week, WWE assumed that Cody coming in was a done deal, but at this point, it’s no longer 100%.
The Observer said that “essentially the situation appears to be that he has offers from different places and will choose one as opposed to going to WWE as WWE believed it to be last week.”
