WWE reportedly is currently producing two new scripted television series for NBCUniversal and Netflix, according to Variety.com and Wall Street Journal.
In regards to the upcoming new series for NBC, Variety reported that this is being co-produced with NBC and is titled Pinned. It was reported that this new series will be focused on the professional wrestling industry and was stated to be “an adrenalized upstairs-downstairs soap that gives a behind-the-scenes look at a fictional wrestling promotion and the unforgettable characters that populate it.”
It was also reported that Craig O’Neill and Tom Rinaldi will be the executive producers for this upcoming new series alongside WWE’s Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, and Chris Kaiser.
In regards to the upcoming new series for Netflix, Wall Street Journal reported that this will be a Spanish-language comedy series and is titled Contra Las Cuerdas. It was reported that this series will be focused on aspiring female wrestler in Mexico and is currently planned to debut on Netflix in Mexico.
