Stephanie McMahon Leave of Absence Update

As noted before, WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon recently announced that she was taking a leave of absence from the majority of her work responsibilities in the company due to family-related reasons.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE officials held an “all hands on deck” meeting with their staff on Thursday. One of the topics discussed included McMahon’s current break from the company.

Johnson reported that WWE staff were informed that McMahon “needed time” after everything her family had been through over the past year, including Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s heart-related health issues. Johnson also reported that staff were also told that there would be a few new hirings to help fill the management roles left void by McMahon’s current absence but this will not be happening for at least a few weeks.

Zelina Vega Reportedly Dealing with an Injury

“Queen” Zelina Vega reportedly recently suffered and underwent surgery for an injury, according to PWInsider.

Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that the reason for Vega’s recent absence from WWE programming was due to her recently undergoing surgery for an undisclosed in-ring injury.

Johnson reported that WWE officials currently expect Vega to be out of action for the next six to eight weeks and are currently considering the idea of giving her a push as part of their potential return plans for her. WWE officials reportedly have been pleased with Vega’s willingness to do what was requested of her and her hard work behind the scenes in the company.

Gable Steveson Interested in Return to Collegiate Wrestling

WWE talent Gable Steveson reportedly is currently considering the idea of a potential return to collegiate wrestling, according to the University of Minnesota.

During a recent interview with the Pioneer Press, Minnesota Golden Gophers wrestling coach Brandon Eggum revealed that Steveson has held recent talks with the university regarding a potential return to collegiate wrestling next season.

“I know he would like to wrestle, and he loves competing. Really, it comes down to making that work. It would have to be something he works out with the WWE and Vince McMahon. Those details … it hasn’t gotten that far. It’s one thing if he said, ‘No way, I’m not doing it.’ … But he has the eligibility, he’s capable and he has interest in doing it.”
