Hangman Page vs. current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada is a match that’s tentatively planned for the AEW NJPW Forbidden Door PPV later this month, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
“I had seen a lineup, which was interesting because it was Punk and Tanahashi for the AEW title and the other match was Okada and Adam Page, which actually could be a hell of a match for the IWGP title,” Meltzer said. “I don’t know if that will happen, change, or whatever. The rest of the show is probably a lot of tag matches between factions on each side.”
CM Punk vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi for the AEW World Championship was also set up last night on Dynamite.
AEW × NJPW: Forbidden Door will take place on Sunday, June 26 in Chicago.
