As noted before, WWE recently announced that they have promoted Paul “Triple H” Levesque back to his previous position as Executive Vice President of Talent Relations in the company.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that as a result of the move, Bruce Prichard has finished his duities as interim Head of Talent Relations and will be resuming his regular job overseeing WWE’s Creative division. Those same sources also stated that Levesque’s promotion back to his old position has been viewed within WWE as the signal that former Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis is effectively done with the company. Laurinaitis has been on administrative leave in WWE since this past June due to WWE’s investigation into his involvement in Vince McMahon’s sexual misconduct allegations and secret settlement payments.
In regards to the backstage reaction within WWE’s locker room, several talent spoken to stated that they had all gotten along well with Levesque. One top level talent stated that they are still unsure why Levesque was ever removed from his position. Another talent spoken to stated that he likely will need to adapt to WWE’s new vision for talent hirings compared to his past vision during his time running NXT. Another talent spoken to stated that they were happy for Levesque’s return to his old role due to him being very approachable towards talent and gets back to talent without giving them vague “we’ll see” type answers to their issues.
In regards to NXT, it was reported that their sources stated that NXT’s Creative team will not be directly affected by Levesque’s move to his former role but he will be hiring and recruiting talent again for the brand going forward.
