Goldberg Comments on Bret Hart;s Grudge Against Him Over Career Ending Errant Kick in 1999

A recent episode of The Michael Kay Show podcast had Goldberg as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Golberg’s thoughts on the lingering grudge Bret Hart still has towards him since his errant kick at WCW Starrcade 1999 that led to Hart’s retirement from wrestling due to a concussion.

“Yes. As Goldberg the character and Goldberg the human. When an accident happens and you tell your side of the story and nobody believes it, especially the person who is negatively effected by it, yeah, it sucks. I will take it to my grave. I’m sure he will never forgive me. What else can I say? I said I was sorry and that it was unintentional and it was the furthest thing from my mind a million times. Of the million times, he’s come back with, ‘Yes, it was intentional, he’s a punk, he didn’t know what he was doing, he ruined my career.’ It sucks. You can lead a horse to water and shove their face in the damn water, but you can’t shove it up their esophagus. If you can tell, I’m pretty pissed off about the fact that he still harbors it. It sucks. I truly believe that it shows what a human being I am that I can forgive people for accusing me of something that is not true.”

Alan Angels Comments on AEW’s Original Plans for Him & Dark Order’s 10

A recent episode of the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast had former AEW talent Alan Angels as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Angels revealing that AEW’s original plans for him was to team up with Dark Order’s 10 and be called “Five & Dime.”

“So he [Preston ‘10’ Vance] also trained at the Nightmare Factory. That’s kind of the original idea when I got signed [to AEW] was to put us together. We were gonna be ‘Five and Dime’. That was the whole idea. Unfortunately, he got hurt right as I was getting signed. So I don’t think it ever really took off like it could have just because of that, because by the time he got back, [John] Silver and [Alex] Reynolds were back, Stu [Grayson] and [Evil] Uno was there and I believe Brodie [Lee] was already having his TNT run if it wasn’t already over. I’m not too sure but, yeah, that was kind of the original idea and I don’t think it ever got to take off like it could have. I think it could have been a really cool thing. But yeah, that was kind of the thought process at the beginning was it was gonna be ‘Five and Dime’. That was gonna be the tag team.”

Angels also gave his thoughts about his time working with the late Brodie Lee and the helpful advice Lee gave for his career.

“Oh yeah, he [Brodie Lee] definitely would like — he would watch all of our matches and give us advice and all that stuff. When I say ‘us’, I mean The Dark Order. But, he was one of those guys that you could ask him anything. Even if you weren’t in The Dark Order, if you asked him, he would watch your match and he would give back to the younger guys in general, not just The Dark Order but, yeah, he definitely did help all of us in The Dark Order, especially once we started doing the B.T.E. stuff. He was giving too — he wasn’t too hyped about it at first. I don’t think he really wanted to do it at first, you know, because he’s this big scary character but the way that we did it I think made it work for him to where he did end up enjoying it.”
