WWE: Next NXT Event Reportedly Planned for August, Bayley & Zoey Stark Injury Updates, Ric Flair

Next NXT Event Reportedly Planned for This August

WWE reportedly is currently planning for their NXT 2.0 brand to hold their next major event this August, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that WWE officials currently have tentatively plans for this upcoming NXT event to take place in late August. These same sources also stated that WWE officials are currently considering a potential Saturday date of either August 20th or August 27th for this event.

Bayley and Zoey Stark Injuries Updates

As noted before, Bayley has been out of action for WWE since June of 2021 due to a torn ACL injury while Zoey Stark has been out of action for WWE’s NXT brand since this past April due to an unknown injury believed to be foot-related.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Bayley was seen training at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida for several days earlier this week.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that NXT officials recently held talks regarding booking ideas for Stark’s upcoming return from injury to the brand.

Ric Flair Comments on His Famous “Wooo” Catchphrase Being Added Back to WWE’s Intro Signature

As noted before, WWE removed Ric Flair and his famous “Wooo” catchphrase from their intro signature video this past September as part of the fallout against Flair from Dark Side of the Ring’s Plane Ride From Hell episode. This episode featured resurfaced past allegations of sexual assault committed by Flair towards a flight attendant that took place during WWE’s infamous plane ride incident.

This past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW featured the return of Flair’s catchphrase for WWE’s intro signature video.

Following the show, Flair commented on Twitter about WWE restoring his catchphrase to their intro video.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE officials recently made the decision to add Flair back to their signature video for shows due to being under the belief that whatever heat they’d have gotten for their association with Flair after Dark Side of the Ring’s episode is completely done. Meltzer reported that another reason was due to WWE being back on good terms with Flair since working with him on their WWE Evil series.
