Warner Bros Discovery Reportedly Informed AEW to Tone Down Language for Their Shows

Warner Bros Discovery reportedly recently informed AEW to tone down some of the content on their shows, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that Warner Bros Discovery officials recently contacted AEW asking them to tone down on the explicit language used on their weekly shows on TNT and TBS going forward.

In regards to blood, Meltzer reported that WBD officials have not mentioned anything about the usage of blood also being toned down for AEW shows on their networks.


New Gameplay Details for AEW Fight Forever

AEW recently held a new stream session on Twitch at this past Wednesday’s Gamescom 2022 convention in Cologne, Germany. This stream featured several new details being revealed for their upcoming AEW Fight Forever video game for consoles and PC.

Among the new details announced included:

  • Career mode was confirmed and stated to be “deep” in content with players being able to select a manager for their wrestler’s career.
  • The game’s controls were stated to be “easy to learn but hard to master.” Kicks and punches were stated to be two different buttons while the overall controls were stated to be similar to past wrestling games.
  • Kickouts and submission escapes were stated to be based on button mashing instead of mini-games or QTEs (Quick Time Events)
  • Around forty different weapons are useable in the game with players being able to grab them from under the ring during matches.
  • In regards to ratings, it was stated that the game will be rated PEGI 16 and includes blood.
  • In terms of match types, it was stated that Mixed gender matches and CPU vs CPU matches are possible. Mirror matches where the same wrestler can be chosen was also stated to be possible. In regards to match types not present, Cage matches were stated to not be among the choices available.
  • Online mode was stated to be “a big part” of the game.
  • In terms of customization, it was stated that players will be able to modify most of the things in the game including entrances, ring attire, and arenas. Custom belts was stated to not be included as an option.
  • In regards to the game’s soundtrack, it was stated that original created music by Max Caster is featured in the game.

As part of their stream, AEW also showcased a full playable match between Kenny Omega and Adam Cole in the game.


AEW & Renegade Twins File New Trademarks

AEW and the Renegade Twins recently filed several new trademarks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

A trademark for “The Iron Savages” was filed by AEW on August 22nd for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes. This is the new ring name of the tag team Bear Country in AEW.

A trademark for “Renegade Twins” was filed by Charlette and Robyn Renegade on August 22nd for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes.
