As noted before, production for a new season of the wrestling documentary series Dark Side of the Ring has been put on hold by VICE TV in favor of a new series based on the Territories Era of wrestling.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that VICE TV officials currently do not have any plans to resume production on a new season for Dark Side of the Ring this year.
Meltzer reported that while a new season has yet to be greenlit for 2023, the odds of it happening are high due to it being the most popular series in the history of the network. Meltzer also reported that the Owen Hart episode from the second season still remains the most watched ever show on VICE TV.
Meltzer also reported that some early worked had been done for a fourth season of the series prior to it being put on hold with the idea to resume it next year.
