Toxic Attraction Reportedly Replacing Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons for WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles Tournament [Update]

UPDATE:

WWE announced in a recently released video on their YouTube channel that Nikkita Lyons has been pulled from tonight’s SmackDown show due to her being “medically unavailable” to compete. It was also officially confirmed that Toxic Attraction would be replacing Lyons & Zoey Stark for their scheduled WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament match at the show.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE’s wording of their announcement over Lyons’ absence from the show is “correct” but Lyons is currently not injured nor did an injury result in her being pulled from the show.

WWE reportedly recently made a change to the brackets of their on-going WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament, according to PWInsider and the Bryan & Vinny Show.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE officials made the decision on Thursday to remove Zoey Stark and Nikkita Lyons from their scheduled First Round match against Natalya & Sonya Deville at tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown show. Johnson reported that Toxic Attraction’s Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin will now be Natalya and Deville’s scheduled opponents for the show. Johnson also reported that Lyons did not travel for tonight’s show in Montreal, Canada.

In regards to the reason for the change, Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Bryan & Vinny Show that his sources stated that Stark had suffered an injury during her match against Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship at this past Tuesday’s NXT show. Alvarez reported that it is currently not know how serious Stark’s injury is nor how long she might be out of action as a result.
