Warner Bros Discovery reportedly is currently working with AEW on plans for potential new AEW-based non-wrestling series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hollywood Reporter held a recent interview with WBD Chief Content Officer Kathleen Finch who revealed that the company is currently working on potential plans for more AEW-based content to be produced that would not focus around in-ring action.
“We really play in the sports space. One of the things that we’re doing around sports is creating shoulder programming to hold onto those fans. AEW [All Elite Wrestling] pulls huge numbers, so we are working with the wrestling team to figure out what new kind of content can we build that’s not in a wrestling ring.”
While AEW was not specifically mentioned, Finch also stated that she is currently interested in doing more crossovers with their popular stars appearing across their IP properties with Charles Barkley and Guy Furi as two examples given.
In terms of non-ring AEW content, TNT had aired the Rhodes To The Top reality series for one season, which featured Cody and Brandi Rhodes and ended after their departures from AEW.
