WWE: Good Brothers NJPW Update, Ronda Rousey on Extreme Rules Match, NXT & Performance Center News

Good Brothers NJPW Status Update

As noted before, The Good Brothers’ Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson made their surprise return to WWE at this past Monday’s RAW show in Brooklyn, New York. While the Good Brothers’ contracts with Impact Wrestling recently expired opening the door for their return to WWE, both are still believed to be under a working agreement with NJPW until next year’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that both Gallows and Anderson have been working without a contract for NJPW and NJPW officials were aware that the duo would be going to WWE following their departure from Impact.

In regards to Anderson’s past comments about him still “planning to work at the Tokyo Dome,” it was reported that they have not been able to confirm if Anderson was actually serious or just joking around when he made those comments. Anderson is currently scheduled to defend his NEVER Openweight Championship against Hikuleo at NJPW’s Battle Autumn 2022 event this November in Japan.

Ronda Rousey Reveals She Pitched a Different Ending for Her Match with Liv Morgan at Extreme Rules 2022

WWE’s Extreme Rules 2022 event this past weekend in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featured an Extreme Rules match between Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, which was won by Rousey.

During a recent gaming streaming session on YouTube, Rousey stated that she had originally pitched a different ending for her match against Morgan that would have involved the usage of thumbtacks for the match’s finish.

“I pitched the finish to be thumbtacks. She put down thumbtacks, powerbombs me onto the thumbtacks and as a repeat to our finish from before, I would go for an armbar on the thumbtacks and they start counting the pin, but I would push up onto my one shoulder into the thumbtacks to keep the armbar on. Liv would be fighting and trying not to tap and then pass out face down into the thumbtacks, having her hand there to protect her face. They said we can’t do thumbtacks anymore. Legally, we can’t purposefully injure people and cut their skin. I was like, ‘How about tiny maple leaf pins?’ ‘No.’ ‘How about a punch of screws on their side?’ ‘No.'”
