Tommaso Ciampa Confirms Injury & Underwent Hip Surgery

This past Monday’s WWE RAW show featured a segment between Johnny Gargano and The Miz. During the segment, Gargano revealed that Miz was lying about Tommaso Ciampa’s recent absence from RAW being due to Dexter Lumis kidnapping him and instead Ciampa had suffered a recent injury.

Ciampa recently confirmed on Instagram that he did indeed recently suffer an injury and revealed that he had underwent surgery to repair his hip.

The road to recovery begins. It’s a familiar road. Almost too familiar.

Special thanks to Dr Emblom and his team for taking such incredible care of me. Thanks to the WWE medical team for once again putting me back together. And thanks to my “nurses” at home for always giving me perspective.

It took awhile but we finally found the cause to all of that glute/SI/back pain. A hip labrum that “looked like shredded cheese” according to my wife, who watched the surgery.

“But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” – Rocky Balboa —

And yes, Willow insisted on dressing like a pirate for our trip to Birmingham.

Bray Wyatt SmackDown Status Update

As noted before, Bray Wyatt made his return to WWE at their Extreme Rules 2022 event earlier this month in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE currently has Wyatt listed as the top babyface star for their SmackDown brand based on a recent internal roster list. Drew McIntyre reportedly is currently listed as the number two face star for the brand.

Johnson reported that WWE officials have been very thrilled over the success of Wyatt’s return to the company and him being the company’s top merchandiser seller in recent weeks. WWE officials reportedly currently have plans to release more Wyatt brand merchandise soon, including plush versions of Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House characters.

In regards to WWE’s marketing of the “White Rabbit,” Johnson reported that several people within the company had pushed for something similar to be done in the past which was rejected by the company’s old regime under Vince McMahon. Paul “Triple H” Levesque reportedly had been more open to this idea when it was pitched to him for Wyatt’s return.

MLW’s Antitrust Lawsuit Against WWE Update

As noted before, Major League Wrestling filed an antitrust lawsuit earlier this year against WWE claiming that WWE illegally interfered in several of their business deals with television networks and engaged in contract tampering with several of their contracted talent.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that a scheduled court hearing for this Thursday in the U.S. District Court, California Northern District (San Jose) was recently cancelled and rescheduled to a new date of December 5th based on recent court records.

This scheduled hearing reportedly was for a case management hearing, which would have set up the initial dates for the lawsuit’s discovery process, motions, and a potential early outline of when the case could go to trial.
