WWE Crown Jewel 2022 Event Status Update

As noted before, Saudi Arabia recently became aware of a potential terrorist attack being planned to take place very soon in their country. WWE held a press conference on Friday in Riyadh to promote their upcoming Crown Jewel 2022 event and are currently still planning to go ahead with their event in the city on Saturday.

WrestlingInc.com’s Sean Neuman reported that one U.S. State Department official spoken to stated that U.S. embassy officials in Riyadh have been in contact with WWE regarding their upcoming event in the country.

This official reportedly stated that embassy officials had reached out to WWE officials to ensure their talent and staff traveling to the country are kept informed of the latest safety and security information in regards to a potential terror attack in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

Neuman reported that the State Department’s current advisory recommends Americans to reconsider travel plans to Saudi Arabia “due to the threat of missile and drone attacks on civilian facilities.” This advisory also stated for Americans in the country to “exercise increased caution in Saudi Arabia due to terrorism” with some areas having an increased level of risk.


Cody Rhodes Injury Status Update

As noted before, Cody Rhodes has been out of action for WWE since this past June due to a torn pectoral injury.

Rhodes recently provided an injury update on Twitter stating that his current physical rehab therapy has been very painful for him. Rhodes also stated that his daughter has been his inspiration on not wanting to give up on his injury rehab journey.

WWE recently announced that in honor of this month being the ten year anniversary of The Shield’s debut, they will be celebrating with a special month long Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins-themed celebrations on their social media accounts and YouTube.

WWE also recently announced that they have signed a new media rights deal with MultiChoice for their Sub-Sahara African market. It was announced that streaming service Showmax will become the new home of the WWE Network for the region.

MVP reportedly did not travel with the rest of WWE’s roster for this Saturday’s Crown Jewel 2022 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to PWInsider. Mike Johnson reported that as a result, MVP will not be present in Omos’ corner during his match against Braun Strowman at the event. Friday’s pre-taped SmackDown show featured Braun Strowman attacking MVP as WWE’s way of writing him out of their Crown Jewel 2022 event.

During a recent interview with the Out of Character with Ryan Satin podcast, Butch revealed that he is currently in the process of opening a new gym with his brother and cousin in Birmingham, England within the near future.
