WWE reportedly recently held talks with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for another potential match in the future, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that their sources stated that following Austin’s WrestleMania 38 match against Kevin Owens this past April in Arlington, Texas, Austin spoke backstage of enjoying the experience and being open to doing more in the future.
It was also reported that the recent rumor of Austin training for another potential match has been confirmed by their sources within WWE. This rumor originated from a recent workout video Austin posted on Instagram showing him to be in incredible physical shape.
WWE sources spoken to reportedly stated that prior to his departure, Vince McMahon had hoped Austin would come back for another match. WWE’s new regime under Paul “Triple H” Levesque reportedly has continued this idea, going as far as to recently making an actual offer to Austin. One WWE source spoken to stated that the initial talks between Austin and WWE’s new regime were not that fruitful due to both sides were far apart on terms for a potential deal.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that they are currently not sure if this offer was for a match at a future Saudi Arabia event, next year’s WrestleMania 39 event, or something else. Those same sources reportedly also currently assume that this would likely be for next year’s WrestleMania event but would not confirm it nor who could be Austin’s potential opponent.
