More on Bronson Reed’s WWE Return & Backstage Reaction

As noted before, this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Des Moines, Iowa featured the surprise return of Bronson Reed.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that prior to his signing with WWE, New Japan Pro Wrestling officials had been hopeful of being able to keep Reed, also known as JONAH, in the company.

Paul “Triple H” Levesque reportedly had viewed Reed as a “priority hire” after he took over as WWE’s new Chief Content Officer.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that they believe Reed is currently done with NJPW unless WWE were to make a deal similar to what was done for Karl Anderson to allow him to work at future NJPW shows.

In regards to Reed’s return, it was reported that his name was not listed on any of WWE’s internal run sheets for this past Monday’s RAW show but talent had been told that he would be returning to the company soon.

One person spoken to stated that Reed not working for NJPW since this past October was “not an accident” and instead was due to his talks with WWE for a new deal.
