More on Mandy Rose’s Release from WWE, Other Promotions Policies Over OnlyFans & Similar Sites

As noted before, WWE released Mandy Rose this past Wednesday over issues related to adult themed content she had been posting on her FanTime account.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that the current rumor from within WWE is that Rose was making more money from custom photos and videos for her subscribers that featured nudity. This reportedly was beyond the level that WWE was willing to accept for content posted by their talent on outside third party services and why Matt Bloom and Shawn Michaels held a talk over the issue leading to Rose’s release. Rose reportedly had held a live stream featuring adult content and asked for tips in the amount of around $400 to continue or else she would end the stream. Another stream reportedly also featured Rose asking her subscribers what they wanted her to do in custom videos.

In regards to Rose’s contract with WWE, Meltzer reported that she benefited from being able to continue to make main roster type money in NXT while also falling under NXT’s less restrictive rules when it came to making money from outside third party services.

Meltzer reported that the current belief within WWE was that Rose was fired without being given the option by WWE officials to take down the stuff and tone down the content she had been posting on her FanTime account. WWE officials reportedly felt they had no other option due to Rose was purposely posting adult content unlike with other female WWE talent who had their private photos hacked and leaked online without their consent and were not punished over it.

In regards to the decision for Rose to drop her NXT Women’s Championship, Meltzer reported that his sources stated that NXT officials originally were planning on having Rose drop her title to Roxanne Perez either on the New Year’s Evil 2023 special on January 10th or Vengeance Day 2023 event on February 4th in Charlotte, North Carolina. NXT officials reportedly dropped those plans and decided for Rose to drop her title at this past Tuesday’s NXT show due to the situation over her adult content.

Meltzer reported that following her release from WWE, Rose increased the price of subscriptions for her account from $25 per month to $40.

Rose reportedly is currently believed to have been given a 90 days no-compete clause as part of the terms of her release due to her being on a main roster contract.

In regards to WWE’s plans for Rose prior to her release, Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials did not have any plans for Rose to be brought back to the main roster any time soon. Rose reportedly was rumored to have asked for her release from the company around two weeks ago due to this issue but this is something they have yet to confirm from their sources.

In regards to other promotions’ policies over talent having adult themed accounts, David Bixenspan reported that those spoken to within Impact Wrestling stated that the company currently has a “common sense” type policy and is more flexible than WWE over what talent are allowed to post to sites such as OnlyFans. Impact reportedly mostly has the view of nudity and explicit content would be their red line in what would not be allowed to be posted by their contracted talent.

In regards to AEW, Bixenspan reported that it is currently not known what their exact policy is but it might be similar to Impact. Toni Storm’s OnlyFans account reportedly does not feature explicit content while Paige VanZant’s OnlyFans and FanTime accounts do but she has not been used in the company in the past several months.
