Segment: Chase University

We begin with Chase University and Andre welcomes everyone to the new semester. He tells his students to watch New Year’s Evil. Andre talks about the Tony D’Angelo/Dijak match and he asks whose justice will prevail. He mentions the Gauntlet Match. Andre talks about who respect and who will earn it between the Creeds and Indus Sher. A student talks about the Charlie Dempsey and Hank Walker. Andre mentions Bron Breakker and Grayson Waller and Duke picks Bron because he hates Australians. Duke is asked if he is Australian and Duke says he is an American.

Andre mentions Thea’s chance in the Battle Royal. Thea says she doesn’t know if she can do it, but Andre says he has faith in her and Thea is ready for the match.


Tony D’Angelo vs. Dijak

Wes Lee joins commentary. Tony with punches and a clothesline that sends Dijak over the top rope to the floor. Tony punches Dijak and sends him into the apron. Tony with more punches and Dijak sends Tony into the apron and then ring post. Dijak misses a kick and kicks the ring steps instead. Tony with punches but Dijak pulls Tony out of the ring and punches Tony. Tony with a punch and kicks. Dijak with a crossface chicken wing but Tony backs Dijak into the turnbuckles. Tony with an elbow and clothesline for a near fall. Tony with punches and Dijak kicks Tony away and hits a hot shot and clothesline. Dijak gets a near fall.

Dijak misses a clothesline and Tony with a Mick Foley clothesline that sends both men over the top rope to the floor. Dijak takes out Lorenzo but Tony with a spear to Dijak on the floor. Tony checks on Lorenzo. Tony goes into the ring to break the count and then he goes after Dijak but Dijak sends Tony ribs first into the announce table. Dijak with a choke slam to Lorenzo onto the apron. Dijak gets handcuffs out of his jacket and he cuffs Lorenzo to the turnbuckle. Dijak punches Lorenzo with the chain on the handcuffs.

Tony punches Dijak and pulls him back to the floor. Tony sends Dijak into the announce table. Dijak with a hanging twisting neckbreaker for a near fall. Dijak with a cravate to Tony. Tony gets to his feet but Dijak with knees and they return to the mat. Tony with punches but Dijak holds on to the cravate. Tony with a clothesline and back elbow. Tony with a belly-to-belly suplex to Dijak. Tony with a spinebuster for a near fall. Tony sets for a fisherman’s suplex but Dijak blocks it and Tony cannot get Dijak up. Dijak with a back heel kick. Dijak blocks a kick and Tony with a kick. Dijak with a thrust kick and High Justice for a near fall.

Channing wants to finish Dijak and he says he will do it for his boss. Tony says they are family. Tony kisses Lorenzo and runs into a boot for the three count.

Winner: Dijak

After the match, Dijak stares down Wes Lee.


Backstage: Toxic Attraction

McKenzie asks Jacy and Gigi about the battle royal. Jacy says it is a certainty and it will be Vengeance Day for Roxanne. She will pay for what she did to them. Gigi says she will take it out on eighteen other women. You will see two caged beasts. McKenzie asks what happens if comes down to the two of them. Gigi says you will hear ‘your winners… Toxic Attraction’.


The Creed Brothers vs. Indus Sher

Sanga says he has something to say and Brutus says he does not care because it is time to fight. Sanga says Veer is not here and he will do this two on one.

Julius says they will not do this if Veer is not available.
Jinder Mahal attacks Brutus and Julius from behind.

Veer choke slams Brutus onto the ring steps. Jinder gives Julius Khallas.

Jinder says Veer and Sanga fight for respect, but he doesn’t.


Backstage: Pretty Deadly, The New Day

Kit and Elton are in the back talking about how they are closer to a tag title match.

The New Day show up. Kofi and Woods say that they are next and Pretty Deadly’s hair is not ready.


#1 Contenders Tag Team Gauntlet Match

Pretty Deadly vs. The Rockers (Brian Williams & Jimmy Jackson)

Elton gets Williams up and Wilson with a gutbuster. Prince tags in and they hit Spilled Milk for the three count.

Kofi and Xavier come out and Kofi says they knew Elton and Kit would do that so they are not going to let them slide that easily. Woods says they they will have to beat two actual top tag teams. Kofi says they have two top tag teams.

Pretty Deadly vs. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade

Enofe and Blade with punches but Wilson and Prince with uppercuts. Blade and Enofe with punches and they connect with running boots. Blade with a clothesline. Enofe and Blade with flip dives onto Wilson and Prince. Blade with an arm bar. Wilson sends Enofe into the corner but misses a hip strike. Enofe with a back body drop and Blade tags in. They hit a flatliner and bulldog combination for a near fall.

Elton begs for a time out and he sends Blade into the ropes and connects with a Northern Lariat. Kit and Elton punch Blade in the corner. Wilson tags in and he punches Blade. Blade with punches. Kit with European uppercuts. Elton tags in and they connect with double sledges to the back. Elton with a back elbow and kicks. Blade with punches to the midsection and chops. Elton with an Irish whip but Blade with an elbow. Prince keeps Blade from making the tag but Blade kicks Elton away and Enofe tags in. Enofe with clotheslines to Wilson followed by a spinebuster. Enofe with a spinebuster to Prince. Enofe with a running knee to the head for a near fall. Elton and Kit with the assisted double knee gutbuster for a near fall.

Prince with a European uppercut in the corner and he puts Enofe on the turnbuckles. Prince with punches to Enofe and he sets for a superplex. Enofe with punches to send Prince to the mat. Blade makes the tag but Prince doesn’t realize it. Prince with a superplex and Blade with a frog splash for a near fall. Enofe tags in and Blade knocks Wilson off the apron. Blade and Enofe hit the combination neck breaker and Samoan drop but Wilson breaks up the cover. Wilson and Blade go to the floor. Prince goes for a suplex but Enofe counters with an inside cradle. Wilson pushes Prince for the three count.

Pretty Deadly vs. Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen

We see Brooks and Briggs down in the back and officials check on them.

Gallus make their way to the ring.

Pretty Deadly vs. Gallus

Coffey and Wolfgang send Elton and Kit to the floor and they send Elton into the announce table while Coffey hits a back drop driver to Wilson on the apron. Coffey with a uranage to Prince. Wilson tags in and they go for Spilled Milk but Mark with boots to Prince and Wilson. Wolfgang gets Wilson up and Coffey with an enzuigiri. Wolfgang with a power slam for the three count.

Winners: Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang)

Ivy tells Julius that Brutus will be fine. Julius tells Ivy he will take care of Jinder Mahal tonight. Ivy tells Julius to be with his brother, but Julius says he has a match to get made.


Segment: Apollo Crews, Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams

We are back at the diner and Carmelo says that Apollo Crews saw that he is the future. He is beyond the reach of everyone. Trick Williams shows up in Carmelo’s head and he is wearing a mask. Carmelo tells him to take the mask off.

Carmelo and Trick talk about how they can speak about it and it will happen.


In-Ring: Tiffany Stratton

A ball drops from the ceiling and out comes Tiffany Stratton.

Tiffany asks how badly did you miss her. She says you probably missed her so bad it is probably not even funny. Every single woman in that locker room is sweating like a disgusting pig because NXT’s biggest superstar is back. She says she cannot blame for them feeling inferior. In her first nine months, she picked up the business better than any woman has. In the past five months she has seen everyone fail miserably trying to replace her. No one has her shine, her skill, or her style. Now 2023 can officially begin because the center of the universe is back.


Backstage: Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, Tiffany Stratton

After commercials, Kayden and Katana walk in the Most Dangerous Parking Lot in Sports Entertainment and they are asked about their record title reign.

Tiffany Stratton walks out and she is asked about what happened tonight and she refuses to answer any questions.


NXT Championship
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Grayson Waller

They lock up and Bron pushes Waller away. They lock up and Waller escapes and sends Bron into the ropes. Waller slaps Bron and Waller runs away from Bron. They go around the ring and Waller misses an elbow drop. Bron with a shoulder tackle. Bron with a delayed vertical suplex. Bron with a standing moonsault. Bron backs Waller into the corner but runs into a boot. Waller with a satellite DDT. Waller with a front face lock. Bron picks up Waller but Waller holds on to the front face lock and turns it into a cravate. Waller with knees and a guillotine. Bron tries to get out of the hold with a suplex but Waller gets to his feet and hits a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Waller does some push ups. Bron blocks a punch and hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex followed by a back drop. Bron sends Waller into the turnbuckles and hits a gutwrench slam.

Waller with a hard Irish whip. Waller backs Bron into the corner and the middle turnbuckle comes out of the ring post. Waller chokes Bron in the rope while the ring crew and officials try to get the turnbuckle back in the ring post. Waller with a suplex and a reverse chin lock. Bron with a jaw breaker and Waller goes to the floor. Bron follows after Waller and Bron with a punch and he runs Waller into the ringside barrier. Waller sends Bron into the apron and then they return to the ring Bron is kicked back to the floor and Waller comes off the apron but Bron catches Waller. Waller with elbows to block a suplex. Waller sends Bron into the ringside barrier. Waller with a neck breaker for a near fall. Bron with punches but Waller with a knee to the midsection and a DDT. Waller gets a near fall. Waller with an elbow drop and kick to the head. Waller with a single leg crab. Breakker with a Fujiwara arm bar but Waller gets to the ropes to force the hold to be released.

Waller with a forearm and Bron fires back. They go back and forth with forearms. Bron tells Waller to hit him and Waller does it. Bron punches back. Waller with a Northern Lariat. Waller with a Camel Clutch on Breakker but Breakker gets to his feet and Bron escapes the hold. Bron with flying shoulder tackles and a slam to counter a leap frog. Bron goes to the turnbuckles and hits the bulldog. The straps come down and Bron sets for a spear but Waller sees it coming and he goes to the apron. Waller drops Bron on the top rope and then Waller goes for the rolling cutter but he hits a jumping knee instead and gets a near fall. Waller sets for the springboard elbow drop but the middle rope breaks again and Waller falls to the floor.

The referee starts his count and Waller cannot get back into the ring.

Winner: Bron Breakker (by count out)

Waller wants the medical staff to get away from him as the middle rope is repaired again.


Backstage: Roxanne Perez

McKenzie is with Roxanne Perez. McKenzie asks if Roxanne is rooting for anyone specific. She says she is rooting for Cora Jade and then she says she is joking. She says this opportunity is huge. The first Major event outside of this building in three years. She says there are a lot of people who have a chance.

McKenzie asks about Gigi and Jacy. Roxanne says they are threats. They have dominated the tag team division for years. Roxanne says she can’t wait to watch.


Charlie Dempsey vs. Hank Walker

They lock up and they go into the ropes and Charlie with a forearm on the break. Dempsey with an Irish whip and he runs into a boot. Walker with a shoulder breaker for a near fall. Dempsey puts Walker in the ropes and he chokes Walker. Dempsey pulls Walker into the ropes in the throat. Walker and Dempsey go through the ropes to the floor. Walker sends Dempsey into the apron. Dempsey kicks Walker as he returns to the ring. Dempsey with a chin lock in the ropes. Dempsey kicks Walker to the floor.

Dempsey kicks Walker and Walker kicks back. Dempsey blocks a kick and hits a bridging dragon screw. Dempsey with a bow and arrow but Walker gets to the ropes. Walker kicks Dempsey away. Charlie with a kick to the knee and a European uppercut. Dempsey with a forearm to the jaw. Dempsey sends Walker throat first into the ropes and then applies a front face lock. Walker with a cross arm breaker and Dempsey tries to get to the ropes and Walker pulls Dempsey back into the ring. Dempsey escapes and connects with a crossface. Dempsey tries to lock up Walker but Walker cannot get to the ropes and Dempsey rolls Walker into the center of the ring to force Walker to tap out with a Regal Stretch.

Winner: Charlie Dempsey

After the match, Gulak checks on Walker. Dempsey leaves the ring. Gulak has some words for Walker.


Backstage: Sol Ruca, Alba Fyre

We see Sol Ruca in the back and Alba Fyre shows up and she talks about the match they should have had. Alba says she owes Sol a match. Sol says that Alba is done with Isla. Alba asks Sol if she is refusing the match. Sol says she will take the match and it will happen next week.


Video Package: Tyler Bate

We have a video package for Tyler Bate. Tyler says he is back to settle some issues and face new challenges. He will be back next week.


Segment: Scrypts, Oro Mensah

Vic mentions that NXT Anonymous has struck again. We see Scrypts talking about Oro Mensah.


Jinder Mahal vs. Julius Creed

Julius attacks Mahal before the match and punches him. Creed blocks a kick and runs Jinder into the turnbuckles. Creed with a spinebuster and a punch. Creed sends Mahal shoulder first into the ring post a few times. Creed follows Mahal to the floor but Mahal sends Creed into the apron. Creed avoids being sent into the ring steps and Creed sends Mahal into the steps. They return to the ring but Mahal with a double sledge to the back and kicks. Mahal with a forearm to the back of the head. Creed with a kick and punches. Mahal goes into the ropes but Julius pulls him back into the ring and gets a near fall. Creed with elbow drops. Cred with an Irish whip but he misses a splash into the corner.

Mahal with a clothesline. Creed with a drop kick. Mahal goes to the apron and Creed punches hiim. Creed sends Mahal into the turnbuckle and he sets for a superplex but Mahal stops hiim and punches Creed. Creed punches Mahal and goes back to the turnbuckles for the superplex but Mahal pushes him off again. Creed leaps to the turnbuckles and hits a superplex. Creed gets a near fall. Creed with shoulders in the corner. Mahal with a double thrust to the throat and then Mahal hot shots Creed. Mahal with a drop kick and he gets a near fall. Mahal chokes Creed in the ropes. Mahal with knee drops to Creed. Mahal with a forearm to the throat and the head. Julius with punches and a kick. Mahal with a Harley Race knee for a near fall. Mahal with a knee to the back and an elbow to the top of the head. Mahal with a half nelson and chin bar. Julius with an exploder to Mahal. Julius punches Mahal and connects with running forearms. Creed with an exploder slam for a near fall. Mahal with elbows to the side of the head. Creed gets Mahal on his shoulders and then hits the rolling slam.

Creed goes to the turnbuckles but Sanga gets on the apron. That delay allows Mahal to move and avoid the shooting star press. Creed lands on his feet and rolls through. Mahal with a thrust kick and Khallas for the three count.

Winner: Jinder Mahal


Backstage: Brooks Jensen, Kiana James, Fallon Henley

Brooks Jensen is in the medical room and Kiana checks on him. Fallon asks why did Gallus do it and Josh calls them sons of bitches. Brooks says it is about their match last year. Kiana and Fallon says they will help take care of it. Fallon goes to the ring for the battle royal and Brooks tells Kiana she should go too.


Vignette: Stevie Turner

Stevie Turner is coming to NXT. Stevie Turner says you might be familiar with her from her days in NXT UK. She says she is your resident data collector to record everything to do with her. She says she is always two levels above and two steps ahead.


Next Week

Next week, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams will face Axiom and Apollo Crews. Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs will face Gallus.

Everyone pairs off and Cora Jade is eliminated by Lyra Valkyria. Ivy with forearms to Zoey and Lyra with forearms to Ivy. James sends Tatum into the ring post and she is eliminated. Fallon hangs from the ropes and Kiana makes the save. Lash has Miller on her shoulders but Miller with kicks. Miller with a chop to Lash and Lash sends Miller over the top rope to eliiminate her. Jacy sends Ruca to the apron and Gigi trips her but Sol gets to the floor but walks on her hands and then gets back to the ring.

Thea eliminates Feroz and Hail shakes the ropes. Lash is sent to the apron when she misses a kick and Indi with a boot to eliminate Lash.

Kiana avoids a splash from Lyra and she kicks Lyra. Lyra eliminates James. Zoey press slams Dani Palmer onto Kiana and Lash to eliminate her. Lyra kicks Zoey and tries for a clothesline over the rope but Zoey stays in the ring. Lyra kicks Zoey and Lyons joins in. Cora Jade tries to attack Lyra from behind and she goes over the top rope again.

Lyra and Ivy work on Zoey while Nikkita works on Gigi. Fallon is sent to the apron but she gets back into the ring. Alba sends Fallon to the apron and Fallon hangs on to the ropes but Alba drop kicks Fallon off the apron to eliminate her. Lyra is sent over the top rope but she hangs on and lands on the apron. Zoey and Ivy try to eliminate her but Lyra stays on the apron and gets back in the ring. Hail with kicks to Jacy but Lopez sends Thea over the top rope to eliminate her. Lyons kicks Zoey in the corner. Sol gets Lyra up but Lyra gets back to her feet and she sends Sol to the mat.

Ivy with a jumping thrust kick to Zoey. Zoey goes to the apron and Gigi with a forearm to knock her off the apron and eliminate her. Gigi holds on to the ropes to eliminate Indi thanks to some help from Jacy. Nikkita kicks Lopez. Gigi and Jacy kick and choke Alba in the corner. Wendy is sent to the apron by Zoey and Wendy hangs on. Sol kicks Lyra on the apron but she stays in the match. Lopez is sent to the apron by Lyons and Nikkita with foerarms. Nikkita kicks Lopez off the apron to eliminate her. Wendy is kicked off the apron but she lands on her pillow and Lopez pulls the pillow away to eliminate Choo. Lyons kicks Zoey and misses a spinning heel kick and Zoey eliminates Lyons. Sol throws Zoey over the top rope to eliminate her. Sol with a clothesline to Jacy and a drop kick to Gigi. Sol with an Irish whip to Alba but Alba with a thrust kick to stop a handspring move. Alba eliminates Ruca.

The final four are Alba Fyre, Lyra Valkyria, Jacy Jayne, and Gigi Dolin. Lyra with knees to Gigi while Jacy sends Alba to the apron and she holds on and rolls back in. Lyra with a double drop kick to Jacy and Gigi. Lyra with kicks to Jacy and Gigi. Lyra with a head butt to Alba. Lyra with a head scissors and they both go to the apron. Alba sets for a German suplex off the apron and Lyra holds on. Gigi and Jacy run into shoulders. Lyra with a head scissors to eliminate Alba. Cora fails to eliminate Lyra again but Gigi and Jacy knock Lyra off the apron to eliminate her.

Cora and Lyra fight around the ring.

Gigi and Jacy celebrate in the ring, but is there someone who was not eliminated yet? Gigi talks to Jacy and Jacy raises Gigi’s hand and Jacy says she will do the honorable thing. Jacy goes over the top rope but Gigi tells her to stop. Jacy with a super kick and she sends Gigi over the top rope to the apron. Gigi sends Jacy into the turnbuckles and they are both on the apron. They both go to the turnbuckles and Jacy tries for a superplex to the floor but Gigi blocks it.

They exchange forearms on the turnbuckles. Both women fall off the turnbuckles and land at the same time.

Winners: Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin

The referees discuss who won the match and three think Jacy did while one thinks Dolin won. The replay shows both landed at the same time. The referee calls them into the ring and they are both officially announced the winners of the match.

NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez comes out and it is going to be a Triple Threat Match at Vengeance Day.


Backstage: Shawn Michaels, Bron Breakker, Grayson Waller

Shawn Michaels is in the back with Bron Breakker and Grayson Waller. He says they want a definitive winner and both men agree. Shawn tells them not to fight. Shawn announces that at Vengeance Day, it will be a Steel Cage match for the NXT Men’s Championship.
