We go live into the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, which is hosting it’s third Royal Rumble event. Michael Cole and Corey Graves welcome us to the show until…

…Pat McAfee’s music hits. The former NFL punter makes his way to the ring and poses to a good ovation. Corey Graves is absolutely furious, and McAfee tells him to “suck it.” Cole embraces his broadcast partner. McAfee won’t shake Graves’ hand. McAfee is joining commentary, making it a three-man booth.


30-Man Royal Rumble Match

No. 1: WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther

No. 2: Sheamus

The bell rings, and the fastest 60 minutes in sports entertainment kicks off! Gunther and Sheamus, who had a hell of a match at Clash at the Castle in September 2022, go face-to-face. They exchange stiff blows. Gunther reverses a whip into the ropes and absorbs a shoulder tackle from Sheamus. Sheamus tries again for the same result. Gunther knocks him back and tries to eliminate Sheamus, but Sheamus rakes the eyes. Sheamus drops the Ring General with an Irish Curse Backbreaker. Sheamus tries to eliminate Gunther to no avail. The clock is ticking down!

No. 3: The Miz

The Miz gets on the apron but jumps back down to ringside when Sheamus charges him. Gunther tries to take advantage and eliminate Sheamus, but Sheamus hangs onto the apron. Miz tries to pull Sheamus off the apron, but Sheamus kicks him away. Sheamus gets back in the ring before leaving through the middle rope. Sheamus chases Miz into the ring. Gunther chops Miz down. Sheamus knocks Gunther down with a shot to the back of the head. Sheamus chops Miz. Gunther joins in. Miz is clutching his chest in pain. Gunther goes to eliminate Sheamus. Miz tries to help, but the Celtic Warrior hangs on.

No. 4: Kofi Kingston

Kingston goes to the top rope and hits Gunther and Miz with a cross-body block. Kingston takes Sheamus down and hits a high clothesline on Miz. Kingston hits Gunther with a side-leg sweep before hitting the Boom Drop on Miz and Gunther. Sheamus grabs Kingston and puts him on the apron, but Kingston immediately slides back in. Gunther kicks Miz, and Sheamus kicks Gunther. Gunther and Sheamus trade heavy blows again. Kingston concentrates on trying to eliminate The Miz. The Miz holds on, so Kingston drops him with an SOS. The clock counts down.

No. 5: Johnny Gargano

Gargano is returning from a minor injury. Gargano slingshots into the ring with a spear on Kingston and hits Miz with a step-up enzuigiri. Miz gets Gargano on the apron, but Gargano drops him with a slingshot DDT. Gargano goes to eliminate Miz, but Miz holds on. Gargano ties Miz up in the ropes and allows Sheamus to take him. Sheamus grabs Miz and gets the crowd fired up for a slow and deliberate 10 Beats of the Bodhran. The crowd loudly counts along as Sheamus ventures into nearly 30 beats. Gargano superkicks Miz and Sheamus gives him a Brogue Kick to eliminate him.

The Miz has been eliminated.

Gunther tries to eliminate Sheamus, but Gargano stops him.

No. 6: Xavier Woods

Woods and Kingston double-team Gunther and Gargano. The New Day is a cohesive unit in the every man for himself Men’s Royal Rumble. Kingston and Woods stop when they’re the only ones left standing and come to the realization that they must come to blows. They feign a wheelbarrow before slapping each other’s rear ends. Gunther grabs Woods and tries to eliminate him.

No. 7: Karrion Kross

Kross gets in the ring and runs over Woods with two clotheslines and a big boot. Kross slams Kingston and clotheslines Woods in the corner. Kross forearms Woods in the face. Gunther then brings Kross down to his knees with a stiff chop. Kross and Gunther exchange stiff blows. Gunther boots him in the head, so Kross knocks him back. Gunther then drops Kross with a STIFF clothesline. Kross immediately pops up and slams Gunther with a Doomsday Saito. Sheamus attacks Kross, but Kross quickly tries to eliminate him. The crowd begins to count down once again.

“SHOOSH! SHOOSH PLEASE!”

No. 8: Chad Gable

Master Gable gets in the ring and hits a throat thrust on Gargano. Gable hits a suplex on Kingston. Woods gets out of a German Suplex and shooshes Gable! Gable and Woods begin amateur wrestling in the middle of the ring. Sheamus nearly has Gunther out of the match, but he holds on. Gable hits Woods with a German Suplex.

No. 9: Drew McIntyre

The winner of the 2020 Royal Rumble match makes his way to the ring. McIntyre takes Gable down and hits Kingston with a belly-to-belly suplex. Woods meets the same fate. McIntyre gives Gable a Glasgow Kiss before giving Gargano an inverted Alabama Slam onto him. McIntyre attacks Kross and eliminates him with a Claymore Kick over the top rope!

Karrion Kross has been eliminated.

McIntyre now goes face-to-face with Gunther. The crowd immediately begins buzzing. They exchange some NASTY chops before McIntyre drops him with a Future Shock DDT. McIntyre helps Sheamus up.

No. 10: Santos Escobar

We’re 1/3 of the way through this Royal Rumble already! Escobar hits Woods with a hurricanrana. Gable attacks Escobar and whips him to the corner. Escobar leaps over the top rope and lands on the apron. Escobar kicks Sheamus back and comes off the top rope with a cross-body block on Gable. Gargano puts Escobar in the corner, but Escobar knocks him back. Gargano quickly comes back and tries to eliminate him. Gable joins in, but they’re unsuccessful. Gable leaves and chops Sheamus. McIntyre holds Gable up and lets Sheamus chop him. Escobar then CRUSHES Gargano with a Phantom Driver off the second rope!

No. 11: Angelo Dawkins

Dawkins hits Escobar with a leaping back elbow before punching McIntyre. Dawkins sandwiches McIntyre and Escoabr in the corner with an avalanche. Dawkins hits Gable with a double-arm suplex and tries to eliminate Woods, but Woods just hangs on by a thread! Gunther puts Woods on the apron and tries to eliminate Kingston, but Kingston stays in. Gunther then boots Woods off the apron.

Xavier Woods has been eliminated.

Kingston tries to eliminate Gunther, but Escobar stops him. Kingston crushes Escobar with a double stomp. Gunther puts Kingston on the apron and knocks him off. Woods has a commentary chair set up for Kingston to land on, but the chair falls over. Is this a second failed Rumble stunt for Kingston? The commentators are trying to stay Kingston has one foot still on the chair. We’re waiting on the call.

Kofi Kingston has been eliminated.

No. 12: Brock Lesnar

The winner of the 2003 and 2022 Royal Rumble makes his way to the ring. McIntyre and Sheamus wait for him. Lesnar takes Sheamus down and hits McIntyre with a German Suplex. Sheamus also takes a German Suplex. Dawkins charges Lesnar, but he takes a German Suplex. Escobar dives off the top rope, but Lesnar catches him and WILDLY throws him out of the Rumble. Lesnar also clotheslines Dawkins out of the ring. Gable jumps on him, but Lesnar dumps him out.

Santos Escobar has been eliminated.
Angelo Dawkins has been eliminated.
Chad Gable has been eliminated.

Lesnar hits McIntyre with another German Suplex and gives Sheamus a scary belly-to-belly suplex nearly on his head. Lesnar and Gunther go face-to-face, and the crowd is absolutely buzzing. Nothing happens as the clock counts down.

No. 13: Bobby Lashley

Lesnar and Gunther begin exchanging blows before Lesnar knees him. Lesnar then tosses Gunther with a big suplex. Lashley spears Lesnar down! Lashley hits Gargano with a one-armed spinebuster. Lashley spears McIntyre and Sheamus right after. Lashley hits a one-armed spinebuster on Gunther. Lesnar lifts Lashley for an F5, but Lashley slides off and clotheslines him over the top rope! Wow!

Brock Lesnar has been eliminated.

Lesnar is furious and throws the top of the commentary table into the ring.

No. 14: Baron Corbin

JBL gives Corbin a pep talk before he runs to the ring. An irate Lesnar takes the top half of the steel steps and smashes it onto the commentary table! Lesnar attacks Corbin as he comes to the ring and hits him with an F5 on the floor! Lesnar grabs a referee by the throat and shoves him over the barricade. Lesnar goes to the timekeeper’s area and leaves.

No. 15: Seth “Freakin” Rollins

Halfway through the Royal Rumble match now! Rollins takes his time getting to ringside and sees Corbin coming to. Rollins rolls Corbin into the ring and superkicks him before clotheslining him over the top rope!

Baron Corbin has been eliminated.

Sheamus and Rollins go face-to-face before exchanging blows.

No. 16: Otis

Rollins nearly eliminates Sheamus, but he holds on. Otis slams McIntyre and hits a big suplex on Sheamus. Otis avalanches Gargano and poses. Lashley grabs Rollins, his nemesis, and tries to eliminate him. Otis sizes up Gargano and stomps him.

No. 17: Rey Mysterio

The winner of the 2006 Royal Rumble makes his way to the ring. Rollins comes off the top rope, but Lashley catches him in a Hurt Lock attempt. Rollins gets out and superkicks Lashley twice. Rollins elbows Gunther away and charges Lashley. Lashley grabs him, but Rollins slides off and eliminates The All Mighty!

Bobby Lashley has been eliminated.

Rey Mysterio has not come out. No one knows where he is. Otis hits a Caterpillar on Gunther. Otis goes to the second rope, but Gunther pops up and attacks him. Sheamus and McIntyre attack Otis.

No. 18: Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio comes out wearing his father’s mask! Dominik tears his father’s mask up. It’s insinuated that he attacked his father, leading to him not coming out at No. 17. The cameras nearly missed McIntyre and Sheamus eliminate Otis.

Otis has been eliminated.

Rollins drives Gargano into the corner. Dominik circles the ring. Michael Cole calls Dominik Mysterio a “piece of s**t.” Prison Dom circles the yard and won’t get in. Dominik is trying to pick the right spot, something he no doubt learned from the other hardened criminals he had to share the prison yard with. Dominik gets in the ring and is immediately scared back by Sheamus.

No. 19: Elias

Elias gets in the ring with a guitar and attacks Gargano. Elias turns his attention to Gunther and smashes the guitar off his spine. McIntyre and Sheamus take Elias down. McIntyre and Sheamus then CRUSH Elias with a dual Brogue Kick and Claymore Kick before eliminating him. Elias lasted 39 seconds.

Elias has been eliminated.

Gargano punches Dominik down in the corner. Sheamus and McIntyre are double-teaming Rollins.

No. 20: Finn Bálor

2/3 of the way through the Royal Rumble! Sheamus and Gargano nearly eliminate Rollins. McIntyre is concentrating on Dominik. Bálor gets in the ring and saves Prison Dom by hitting McIntyre with a Sling Blade. Bálor tries to eliminate McIntyre, but Sheamus stops it. Bálor quickly takes Sheamus down with a falling elbow. Gargano attacks Bálor and throws him over the top rope. Bálor hangs on. Dominik takes Gargano down and throws him over the top rope. Gargano hangs on and knocks Dominik back. Bálor dropkicks Gargano. Bálor and Dominik eliminate Gargano.

Johnny Gargano has been eliminated.

Sheamus and McIntyre stare at them. Dominik foolishly shakes McIntyre’s hand before McIntyre attacks him.

No. 21: Booker T

The WWE Hall of Famer was on the Kickoff Show a little less than an hour ago! Booker T kicks Bálor down. Dominik attacks Booker T, and the two former jailbirds square off. Booker T kicks Dominik down and hits Bálor with a Book End. Booker T sets up for it, and the Alamodome comes unglued for the Spineroonie! Gunther then eliminates Booker T to loud boos.

Booker T has been eliminated.

McIntyre and Sheamus attack Gunther. Gunther is bleeding from a big laceration on his lower back.

No. 22: Damian Priest

Priest attacks Sheamus and McIntyre. Gunther grabs him, but Priest knocks him back. Priest, Dominik, and Bálor triple-team Rollins. The Judgment Day is running wild on everyone. The camera is zooming in on the nasty cut on Gunther’s back. Bálor hits Rollins with a spinebuster and holds him up for Priest to hit a leg drop. Bálor then shoulders Gunther in the corner.

No. 23: Montez Ford

Priest has McIntyre hanging precariously over the top rope. Ford knocks Bálor back and nearly eliminates Dominik, but he holds on. Ford punches him down, but Dominik is hugging the bottom rope. Ford hits a WILD chop on Priest and kicks him back. Bálor attacks Ford and throws him over the top rope, but Ford skins the cat to get back in. Ford punches a stunned Bálor. Priest grabs Ford by the throat and hits a Chokeslam over the top rope. Ford lands on his feet and is disappointed.

Montez Ford has been eliminated.

No. 24: Edge

The former leader of The Judgment Day and the WWE Hall of Famer makes his way to the ring with full pyrotechnics. We haven’t seen Edge since Extreme Rules in October. Edge spears Priest before giving one to Bálor. Prison Dom knocks Edge into the ropes and goes for a 619, but Edge spears him down! Edge eliminates Damian Priest and Finn Bálor!

Finn Bálor has been eliminated.

Edge and Rollins stare each other down. Dominik attacks Edge. Edge tries to throw him over the top rope, but he holds on. Bálor jumps on the apron and pulls Edge over the top rope!

Edge has been eliminated.

Bálor and Priest double-team Edge at ringside. Rollins attacks Dominik and tries to eliminate him, but he stays in the match somehow.

No. 25: United States Champion Austin Theory

Edge attacks Damian Priest heading up the ramp and wildly chases Finn Bálor to the back. Bálor trips and Edge runs by him! Edge attacks Priest and Bálor at the entrance ramp. Rhea Ripley then clocks Edge from behind! All of a sudden, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix appears behind her! The crowd pops huge. Phoenix spears Ripley down on the exposed floor! WWE security and producers run out and separate them.

Theory gets in the ring and attacks Rollins before hitting a fisherman’s neckbreaker to the knee. Theory takes Dominik down and attacks McIntyre.

No. 26: Omos

Omos makes his slow walk to the ring. In the ring, Sheamus clotheslines Theory down. McIntyre and Sheamus stand together and attack Omos as he gets in the ring. Pat McAfee has been dropping a ton of innuendos about the nixed “Banger Bros” tag team name for McIntyre and Sheamus. Omos attacks Dominik and hits Theory with a sidewalk slam. Gunther gets up and viciously chops Omos twice. Omos absorbs the shots and grabs Gunther by the throat before hitting a Chokeslam. Gunther and Sheamus have been in this since the start of the match.

No. 27: Braun Strowman

Omos goes after Rollins, but McIntyre grabs Omos and punches him. Omos knocks McIntyre back and waits for Strowman to get in the ring. The No. 27 spot has four historic winners. Strowman gets fired up and gets in Omos’ face. Omos pie faces Strowman, so Strowman punches him back. The two big men exchange blows in the center of the ring. Strowman stuns him with a right hand, but Omos gets more fired up. Strowman hits the ropes and clotheslines Omos out of the ring!

Omos has been eliminated.

Strowman punches Gunther and goes after Rollins in the corner. McIntyre and Sheamus go after Theory before turning their attention to Rollins. Strowman throws Theory across the ring and boots Dominik down.

No. 28: Ricochet

Ricochet gets in the ring, and Strowman throws his tag team partner into Dominik. Strowman and Ricochet take Dominik down. Strowman is nearly eliminated by Sheamus and McIntyre, but he holds on. Sheamus and McIntyre hit double 10 Beats of the Bodhran to Strowman. Sheamus turns on his banger bro tag partner and tries to eliminate McIntyre. Sheamus goes after Gunther and hits a rolling fireman’s carry. Gunther pops up and dumps Sheamus over the top rope, but he holds on. Gunther chops Sheamus, but McIntyre saves him from falling to the floor. Gunther then eliminates Sheamus and McIntyre! Sheamus lasted 52:30, while McIntyre lasted 39:10.

No. 29: Logan Paul

Logan Paul suffered a devastating knee injury at WWE Crown Jewel, but he appears to be in good health. The crowd loudly boos the social media star. Everyone in the ring except for Gunther gangs up on Paul. The crowd is very pleased with this. Ricochet tries to eliminate Paul, but Paul lands on the apron and knocks him back. Paul hits Ricochet with a Buckshot Lariat! Gunther drops Paul on the apron, but Paul knocks him back. Paul stares at Strowman and ducks a clothesline. Paul hits Strowman with some punches, but Strowman soon crushes him with a Running Monster Slam. Ricochet follows up with a standing shooting star press on Paul. Strowman tries to eliminate Paul, but he goes through the middle rope.

No. 30: Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes makes his return from a terrible pectoral muscle tear that took him out after the Hell in a Cell event in June. Rhodes gets a big reaction coming out. Rhodes gets in the ring and takes Theory and Dominik down. Rhodes knocks Strowman back and hits Theory with a Cody Cutter. Rhodes celebrates by throwing his weight belt into the crowd. Dominik attacks Rhodes and starts the Three Amigos! Dominik goes for the third Amigo, but Rhodes counters into the Cross Rhodes! Rhodes then eliminates Dominik to a big reaction.

Dominik Mysterio has been eliminated.

Strowman absolutely kills Rhodes with a powerbomb! Gunther grabs Strowman and lifts him up for the Last Symphony! Wow! Ricochet hits Gunther with a standing Sliced Bread #2. Theory puts Ricochet on the apron, but Ricochet kicks him back. Paul is opposite him on the other apron and challenges him. They each springboard off the top rope and collide midair in the center of the ring with a sickening thud! Unbelievable!

Rhodes throws Ricochet over the top rope, but he holds on. Strowman saves Ricochet. Rhodes tries to eliminate Strowman… and he is successful!

Braun Strowman has been eliminated.

Rhodes thwarts an elimination by Rhodes. Theory then clotheslines Ricochet over the top rope.

Ricochet has been eliminated.

The Final Four of the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble are Gunther, who came in at No. 1, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Austin Theory, and Cody Rhodes. Logan Paul is also still in it, but none of the commentators mention that. Rhodes knocks Theory back, and Rollins hits Theory with a Stomp! Rhodes then clotheslines Theory over the top rope, helping his longtime nemesis.

Austin Theory has been eliminated.

Rollins and Rhodes stare at each other. Rollins taunts him about the pec muscle. Rollins says Rhodes will not steal his spotlight and moment twice. They circle the ring. Gunther attacks them both. Rollins holds Gunther up, and Rhodes punches him. Rhodes holds Gunther up, and Rollins superkicks him. Rhodes uppercuts Gunther, and Rollins hits Gunther with a Pedigree. Rhodes then hits Gunther with a Pedigree of his own before staring at Rollins.

Rhodes and Rollins circle the ring. Gunther just set the Royal Rumble record for the most time spent in a traditional Royal Rumble match! Rollins and Rhodes exchange blows. Rollins gets out of the Cross Rhodes. Rhodes avoids a Stomp. Rollins superkicks Rhodes back and kicks him in the midsection. Rollins goes for a Pedigree, but Logan Paul, who hasn’t been eliminated, grabs Rollins and throws him over the top rope!

Seth “Freakin” Rollins has been eliminated.

Logan Paul is fired up, and the crowd is furious. Paul points at the WrestleMania sign and taunts the fans. Rhodes grabs Paul and hits Cross Rhodes before eliminating him!

Logan Paul has been eliminated.

No. 1 Gunther and No. 30 Cody Rhodes are the final two! Gunther viciously chops Rhodes. Gunther whips Rhodes to the corner, but Rhodes slingshots over him. Gunther viciously chops the surgically repaired pectoral muscle. Rhodes flips through a back suplex and lands on his feet. Gunther rocks Rhodes with a chop. Gunther continually chops him and hits an uppercut. Gunther goes for a big boot, but Rhodes moves. Gunther falls over the top rope to the apron. Rhodes goes for a Disaster Kick, but Gunther chops him out of midair! Gunther gets in the ring and viciously clubs the chest. Rhodes’ chest has some sickening welts, slightly calling back to the discoloration at Hell in a Cell. Gunther lifts Rhodes and puts him on the top rope in the corner. Gunther has him over the top rope, but Rhodes is hanging on to the bottom rope with half his body hanging over the apron, dangling precariously above the floor that would spell elimination and the end of the comeback story. Rhodes knocks him back and goes to the top rope. Gunther grabs Rhodes and hits a wild superplex back into the ring!

Gunther continues to attack Rhodes and stomps away at him. Rhodes gets to his feet and starts to fire himself up. Rhodes punches Gunther back and uppercuts him. Rhodes takes Gunther down with a Cody Cutter and clotheslines him over the top rope, but Gunther hangs onto the bottom rope! Rhodes is frustrated and gasping for breath. A “Cody” chant picks up. Gunther punches Rhodes in the midsection. Rhodes hits him with a dragon screw on the ropes. Rhodes then puts Gunther’s legs between the middle rope and hits Goldust’s Shattered Dream! The legendary Goldust is Rhodes’ brother.

Rhodes attacks Gunther and does a roll, but Gunther wipes him out with a dropkick! Gunther annihilates Rhodes with a Powerbomb and throws him over the top rope. Rhodes holds onto the top rope with his feet dangling over the floor! Rhodes pulls himself to the apron and is not eliminated yet. Gunther and Rhodes exchange blows. Rhodes is still on the apron and will be eliminated if he’s knocked off. Gunther applies a sleeper hold. Rhodes uses his body weight to pull Gunther over the top rope. Gunther realizes he is in trouble and releases the hold. Rhodes quickly goes to the top rope and jumps off, but Gunther chops him out of midair! Gunther lifts Rhodes, but Rhodes slides off and hits Cross Rhodes. Rhodes hits the ropes and clotheslines Gunther out of the ring! The American Nightmare is the winner of the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble Match!

Winner: Cody Rhodes (1:11:42)

Cody Rhodes celebrates big time, and the crowd cheers him on. Rhodes stands on the turnbuckles and points at the WrestleMania sign. Pyrotechnics go off in the Alamodome. Fireworks go off outside of it.


Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match
Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight

The bell rings, and Wyatt has his head buried in the corner. The lights go down, and blue lights turn on. Wyatt is wearing body paint that accentuates the look. Wyatt attacks LA Knight and slams him. Charles Robinson, the greatest referee ever, is officiating one of the more interesting matches we’ve seen. Wyatt hits a scary suplex on Knight. A Mountain Dew Pitch Black logo is in the center of the ring. Knight gets out of the ring to recover. Wyatt grabs Knight, but Knight reverses a whip into the steps. Wyatt goes flying over the stairs after hitting his knees. Wyatt quickly throws Knight over the barricade. Wyatt clears off the commentary table, and some LED material pops out. Wyatt grabs the steps and sets up for a superplex. Knight fights it and dives off the barricade into Wyatt and through the table. More LED beads explode out.

A furious Wyatt gets up shortly after and throws a toolbox into the ring. Knight attacks Wyatt, but Wyatt throws him out of the ring. A kendo stick painted with neon colors is introduced. Knight hits Wyatt with it, and the paint comes off on Wyatt. Wyatt blocks a kendo stick shot and hits Sister Abigail for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Bray Wyatt (5:05)

Wyatt paces around and soon emerges wearing a new mask. Knight runs away and hits him with a kendo stick. Wyatt doesn’t sell it and stalks him through the crowd. Wyatt absorbs a second kendo stick shot to the shoulder and head. Wyatt chases Knight up a platform. Wyatt applies the Mandible Claw and takes Knight down. Wyatt looks up and sees Uncle Howdy standing above him on a platform. Howdy then jumps off this platform and dives onto Knight. Pyro explodes around Wyatt. Wyatt stares down at the carnage. The bell rings, and Bliss quickly takes it to Belair. Belair ties her up in the corner and slams her down. Bliss uses Belair’s braid to pull back on a bow-and-arrow stretch. Bliss attacks Belair with strikes and hits double knees to the back. Bliss covers for a one-count. Bliss applies a chin lock, but Belair powers out. Bliss quickly takes her down with some kicks for a two-count. Bliss goes to the top rope and pulls Belair up with a chin lock. Belair counters by spinning Bliss around and hitting a vertical suplex. Belair takes it to Bliss, but Bliss gets the knees up on a handspring standing moonsault. Belair soon takes her down and hits the handspring standing moonsault for a two-count.

Belair goes for a KOD, but Bliss slides off and kicks her in the back of the knee. Bliss grounds her with strikes, but Belair blocks a basement dropkick. Belair goes for a powerbomb, but Bliss wiggles out and hits a DDT for a near fall. After some brief back and forth, Belair gets out of a Sister Abigail attempt and hits the KOD for the win.

30-Woman Royal Rumble Match

No. 1: Rhea Ripley

No. 2: Liv Morgan

The bell rings, and they begin exchanging blows. Ripley quickly takes Morgan down and throws her across the ring. Morgan sidesteps her and clubs away at her. Ripley knocks her back and clotheslines her down. Morgan quickly hits a backstabber and knees her in the corner. Morgan comes off the second rope, but Ripley catches her and hits a vertical suplex.

No. 3: Dana Brooke

Morgan kicks Ripley in the head to take her down as Brooke heads to the ring. Brooke goes to the top rope and hits Morgan and Ripley with a double missile dropkick. Brooke hits Morgan with a handspring back elbow. Ripley catches her trying it on her, but Brooke gets away and sends her into the ring post shoulder-first. Brooke slams Morgan and dropkicks her in the face. Morgan knocks Brooke back and goes to the top rope. Brooke attacks and tries to eliminate her. Brooke hits Morgan with a superplex.

No. 4: Emma

Ripley goes to slam Brooke but falls over. Ripley pops up and attacks Brooke before going after Emma. Emma snaps her off the ropes and attacks her. Brooke attacks Ripley in the corner, as does Brooke. Emma sandwiches Ripley in the corner. Morgan, Emma, and Brooke try to eliminate Ripley, but she fights them off.

No. 5: Shayna Baszler

Baszler charges the ring and hits an inverted gutwrench suplex on Emma. Baszler manipulates the hand of Ripley. Morgan attacks Baszler, but Baszler quickly overwhelms her. Baszler attacks Brooke and stomps on the arm. Brooke screams in pain. Ripley bounces Emma off the top turnbuckle.

No. 6: Bayley

Morgan hits Bayley with Ob-Liv-ion as she gets in the ring, but she can’t eliminate her. Bayley fights back and takes Morgan down. Bayley clubs Emma and goes back to Morgan.

No. 7: B-Fab

B-Fab punches Emma back and sends Morgan to the corner. B-Fab knocks Brooke down with a modified flatliner. B-Fab kicks Bayley down. Ripley grabs B-Fab and ducks a kick before head-butting her down. Ripley grabs B-Fab and sends her over the top rope.

B-Fab has been eliminated.

Ripley smiles and is bleeding from her cheek. Ripley goes after Emma in the corner.

No. 8: NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez

Perez goes to the top rope and hits Brooke with a diving cross-body block. Perez hits Baszler with an avalanche and sends Emma into her. Perez avalanches them both. Perez avoids Ripley and takes her out with a wild head-scissor takeover before doing a kip-up. Perez hits Bayley with an uppercut and tries to eliminate her. Morgan, Brooke, and Emma join Perez in trying to eliminate Bayley, but Bayley hangs on.

No. 9: WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai

Kaii attacks Morgan, Baszler, and Brooke. Kai hits a backbreaker to Perez and checks on Bayley. Brooke and Morgan attack them and clubs them down. Emma and Brooke nearly eliminate Bayley, but she holds on.

No. 10: WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion IYO SKY

We’re 1/3 through this Royal Rumble. Damage CTRL is fully represented in this Women’s Royal Rumble match. Sky springboards off the top rope with a double missile dropkick on Morgan and Brooke. Sky attacks Emma. Baszler attacks Sky, but Sky gets away and dropkicks her. Damage CTRL team up to try to eliminate Emma, but she stays in. Damage CTRL then eliminates Dana Brooke.

Dana Brooke has been eliminated.

Damage CTRL goes back to Emma and put her on the apron. Kai big boots her to the floor.

Emma has been eliminated.

Roxanne Perez nearly eliminates Perez. Perez takes it to Damage CTRL. Bayley soon lifts her, and Sky and Kai kick her off Bayley’s shoulders to the floor. Perez is disappointed at ringside.

Natalya is back after being injured by Baszler. Baszler quickly gets Natalya in the corner and punches away at her. Baszler stomps her down in the corner.

No. 12: Candice LeRae

LeRae attacks Kai and puts Sky on the apron. Bayley is sent into them and nearly eliminates her partners. Baszler viciously knees LeRae in the face. Baszler punches LeRae down in the corner. Baszler and Natalya soon go face-to-face. Natalya slaps her and hits a German Suplex. Baszler dumps Natalya onto the apron and sizes her up. Natalya avoids a kick and powers Baszler over the top rope, but she holds the top rope. Baszler applies a Kirifuda Clutch to Natalya. Damage CTRL puts Natalya over the top rope and eliminates Baszler and Natalya.

No. 13: Zoey Stark

Stark gets in the ring and clotheslines Bayley before superkicking Morgan. Stark superkicks Kai and hits Sky with a half-and-half suplex. Ripley puts Stark on the apron, but Stark kicks her back. Stark CRUSHES Ripley with a springboard cannonball senton. On the other side of the ring, Damage CTRL is taking it to LeRae and Morgan.

No. 14: Xia Li

Li kicks LeRae down and spin-kicks Morgan. Li rocks Ripley with a kick and punches her in the corner. Li gets fired up. Damage CTRL triple-team Li. Kai and Sky go for a double-team suplex on LeRae, but LeRae counters into a double neckbreaker. Bayley lifts LeRae, but she gets away. Damage CTRL put LeRae on the top rope and eliminate her.

Candice LeRae has been eliminated.

No. 15: Becky Lynch

We’re halfway through the Royal Rumble. Becky Lynch, who was viciously attacked by Damage CTRL this past Monday on Raw before a Steel Cage Match, furiously walks to the ring. Lynch won the 2019 Royal Rumble. Lynch attacks Kai and Sky, who went under the bottom rope to attack her at ringside. Lynch takes them down and gets in the ring to attack Bayley. They go through the middle rope. Lynch tries to fight off Damage CTRL, but they overwhelm her. No one has been eliminated in this exchange. They drive Lynch into the barricade before sending her over the commentary table. Lynch holds her shoulder in pain, the same one she injured during the summer.

No. 16: Tegan Nox

Nox goes to the top rope and hits Ripley with a Molly-Go-Round. Nox attacks Kai and Sky in the corner before hitting Li. Stark meets the same fate. Nox sentons Kai and Sky in the corner before hitting Li with a front suplex. Nox knees Kai in the face. Morgan attacks Stark and jumps off Nox’s back with a codebreaker. Nox then crushes Stark with a Shinisest Wizard. Nox and Morgan put Stark on the apron, but they can’t eliminate her.

No. 17: Asuka

Asuka comes out to a HUGE reaction. The 2018 Royal Rumble winner heads to the ring. Asuka is wearing some awesome makeup. Asuka attacks Nox and knees Morgan. Stark attacks Asuka, but Asuka hits a German Suplex. Asuka avoids a clothesline from Bayley and taunts her. Bayley avoids a spinning back fist and punches her. Asuka laughs and hits a strike combination. Asuka throws Bayley over the top rope, but Bayley hangs on. Nox attacks Asuka, but Asuka soon takes her down. Nox whiffs on a kick, and Asuka sells it. Asuka gets Nox on the apron and kicks her down.

Tegan Nox has been eliminated.

No. 18: Piper Niven

The former Doudrop makes her way to the ring with her original name. Corey Graves asks, “DO you think someone is going to be DROPPED tonight, Cole?” Niven crushes Stark in the corner and viciously slams Li. Niven hits Li with a senton splash. Bayley attacks Niven, but Niven takes her down. Niven then scoop slams Morgan onto Bayley. Niven hits Bayley and Morgan with a double cross-body.

No. 19: Tamina

Tamina gets in the ring and squares off against Piper Niven. Bayley and Kai try to attack, but Tamina and Niven fight them off. Tamina and Niven exchange big punches before Tamina superkicks her down. Damage CTRL triple-teams Tamina, but Lynch runs in and attacks them. Lynch is solely concentrating on Damage CTRL. Lynch hits Kai and Sky with a stereo reverse DDT/DDT combo.

No. 20: Chelsea Green

We are 2/3 of the way through this Rumble. Green gets in the match… and Ripley eliminates her! Chelsea Green is the fast elimination in the history of the Women’s Royal Rumble.

Chelsea Green has been eliminated.

Kai grabs Lynch, but Lynch stops her and eliminates her. Sky grabs Lynch, but she meets the same fate. Bayley then dumps Lynch over the top rope! The crowd loudly boos. Morgan then eliminates Bayley!

IYO SKY has been eliminated.
Becky Lynch has been eliminated.
Bayley has been eliminated.

Lynch battles Damage CTRL into the crowd and to the back. The clock begins counting down again.

No. 21: Zelina Vega

Zelina Vega is dressed as a character from Street Fighter 6. Vega will be a commentator on that game. Vega gets in the ring and hits Ripley with Code Red. Niven grabs Vega and puts her on the apron. Vega kicks her down and points at the WrestleMania sign. Li is on the apron and attacks Vega. Vega blocks a kick and slams Li on the apron before kicking her in the head to eliminate her.

Xia Li has been eliminated.

Vega comes off the second rope with a codebreaker on Niven.

No. 22: Raquel Rodriguez

Rodriguez lifts Vega onto her shoulder and big boots Tamina down. Rodriguez hits Vega with snake eyes and hits some clotheslines on other women. Rodriguez crushes Ripley with a lariat. Stark springboards off the second rope, but Rodriguez catches her and hits a fallaway slam. Rodriguez slams Asuka down. Vega kicks Rodriguez in the knees, but Rodriguez gets up and puts her on the top rope. Vega hits Rodriguez with a flying hurricanrana.

No. 23: “Michin” Mia Yim

Yim shoulders Stark and DDTs her. Yim runs wild in the match and strikes a number of competitors. Yim DDTs Ripley before Tamina attacks her. Niven takes Yim down and tries to eliminate her. Yim and Vega team up to try to eliminate Niven, but she hangs on.

No. 24: Lacey Evans

Evans runs in and attacks Morgan and Tamina. Evans throws Morgan into Tamina before hitting Morgan with a slingshot Bronco Buster. Tamina grabs Evans and puts her on the apron. Evans knocks Tamina back and shoulders Stark. Evans sweeps the feet of Stark and hits a slingshot elbow drop. Tamina clotheslines Evans down.

No. 25: Michelle McCool

The wife of the Undertaker gets up from her ringside seat and is in her ring gear. McCool confronts Tamina at ringside and sends her into the steps. Tamina slams Morgan with a belly-to-belly suplex before hitting Niven with an uppercut. McCool hits Vega with a Faith Breaker. McCool poses to a nice ovation. Tamina attacks McCool, but McCool throws her over the top rope. Tamina lands on the apron, but McCool soon big boots her off.

Tamina has been eliminated.

McCool attacks Ripley and Niven.

No. 26: Indi Hartwell

Hartwell gets in the ring and hits some clotheslines and big boots. Hartwell slams Stark down and points at the WrestleMania sign. Evans attacks Hartwell and chokes her on the middle rope. McCool tries to eliminate Morgan but is unsuccessful.

No. 27: Sonya Deville

Yim hits Stark with Eat Defeat. Deville knees Stark in the face and eliminates her.

Zoey Stark has been eliminated.

Deville hits the ropes and boots Rodriguez in the face. Asuka viciously kicks Deville down, but Deville fires back with kicks of her own. Asuka fights back, but they wipe each other out with a double kick. Evans has Vega fading with a Cobra Clutch from the second rope and eliminates her. Vega falls on her face at ringside.

Zelina Vega has been eliminated.

No. 28: Shotzi

Shotzi comes off the top rope with a cross-body block on Rodriguez and Niven. Shotzi kicks Yim back and puts Rodriguez into the ropes. Shotzi attacks Evans and hits a front suplex on the top rope. Deville dumps Shotzi over the top rope, but Shotzi hangs on. Hartwell goes for a big boot on Deville, but she lands on the apron when Deville ducks. Deville then eliminates her.

Indi Hartwell has been eliminated.

No. 29: Nikki Cross

Cross charges down to the ring a la The Ultimate Warrior. Cross attacks Shotzi and basically every woman in the match. Cross hasn’t even removed her ring coat. Cross finally takes the jacket off and hits the ropes before pointing at the WrestleMania sign. Cross takes Shotzi down. Evans attacks Cross and tries to eliminate her, but Cross pulls her hair.

The clock begins counting down… but the music hits before the countdown ends. Nia Jax is back. I don’t think I’ve seen a botched countdown.

No. 30: Nia Jax

The entire ring comes to a halt as they stare at Nia Jax getting in the ring. Jax is fired up and talks trash to all the women. They all circle around her. Jax challenges them. The entire ring gangs up on Jax, but she sends them all flying when she explodes out. Jax and Rodriguez go face-to-face. Jax head-butts her down. Morgan jumps on Jax, but Jax slams her off. Jax is absolutely fired up. McCool attacks Jax. Asuka hits a back fist, and Asuka hits two codebreakers. Ripley tries to slam Jax, but she loses her. Ripley clubs away at Jax and hits the Riptide! Ripley, who came in at No. 1, calls on the ring to eliminate Jax. Every woman teams up to eliminate Jax.

Nia Jax has been eliminated.

Cross attacks McCool and tries to eliminate her. McCool turns it and nearly has Cross out of the ring. Cross gets back in the ring. Morgan attacks Cross to break that up. Rodriguez puts Evans on the apron, but Evans snaps her off the top rope. Rodriguez quickly comes back with a clothesline that eliminates Evans.

Lacey Evans has been eliminated.

Asuka attacks Rodriguez. Asuka takes her down and applies an armbar. Rodriguez powers her up and puts her on the apron. Deville attacks Rodriguez. Rodriguez puts Deville on the apron. Asuka and Deville kick Rodriguez back. Asuka kicks away at Deville on the apron and eliminates her.

Sonya Deville has been eliminated.

Ripley grabs McCool and flips her over the top rope.

Michelle McCool has been eliminated.

Shotzi attacks Yim, but Yim dumps her on the apron. Yim hits her with Eat Defeat to eliminate her. Niven sneaks up behind Yim and throws her over the top rope into Shotzi. That was a scary landing!

Shotzi has been eliminated.
“Michin” Mia Yim has been eliminated.

Niven slams Rodrigez and hits a cannonball. Rodriguez counters a Vader Bomb from Niven and puts her on the apron before big booting her to the floor.

Piper Niven has been eliminated.

Rodriguez goes for a Tejana Bomb on Ripley and drives her over the top rope. Ripley hangs on and pulls Rodriguez over. Ripley boots Rodriguez to the floor!

Raquel Rodriguez has been eliminated.

Asuka and Cross are put on the apron by Ripley. They knock her back. Cross goes for a hanging DDT on the apron, but Morgan knocks Cross off to the floor.

Nikki Cross has been eliminated.

The Final Three of the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble Match are Asuka, Rhea Ripley, and Liv Morgan. Ripley and Morgan came in at No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. Asuka attacks Morgan. Ripley throws Morgan into Asuka, who hits a codebreaker. Morgan nearly eliminates Ripley, but Ripley pulls her to the apron. Ripley kicks her back. Asuka goes for a hip attack, but Ripley catches her. All three women are on the apron! Asuka spits mist at Ripley, but Ripley ducks and it hits Morgan. Ripley kicks Asuka off the apron!

Asuka has been eliminated.

Morgan is blinded. Ripley grabs her, but Morgan stuns her with a codebreaker on the apron! Ripley holds on, so Morgan knocks her down. Ripley hangs onto the top rope and is dangling above the floor! Ripley powers up and hits Morgan with a head-scissor takeover off the apron to the floor! Ripley wins from the No. 1 spot!

Winner: Rhea Ripley (1:01:03)

Rhea Ripley bites the bottom rope and looks absolutely pumped up. Ripley climbs the ropes and points at the WrestleMania sign as the fireworks go off.

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Kevin Owens

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring alongside his special council “The Wise Man” Paul Heyman and “The Honorary Uce” Sami Zayn. Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and Solo Sikoa are not with him tonight.

The bell rings, and the crowd starts buzzing immediately. Roman Reigns says, “We’re gonna teach him a lesson tonight.” A “Sami Uso” chant picks up, and Paul Heyman looks at Zayn in disgust. Zayn looks pleased with the chant.

In the ring, Reigns and Owens lock up. Reigns applies a headlock, so Owens whips him off. Reigns shoulder tackles him and talks some trash. They lock up again, and Reigns applies a side headlock again. Owens whips him off, but Reigns turns him inside out with another shoulder tackle. Owens angrily gets up. They lock up a third time, and Reigns applies another side headlock. Owens whips him off, drops down, and hits a back elbow. Owens immediately follows up with a senton splash and tells Paul Heyman to “suck it.” Owens stomps away at Reigns in the corner and backs up for a cannonball. Owens shouts to the crowd. Reigns rolls out of the ring to recover, so Owens follows him out. Owens punches Reigns and clubs him. Reigns fights back and hits a head-butt. Owens chops the chest and reverses a whip into the LED barricade. Owens then clotheslines Reigns down on the floor and hits another senton splash. Owens gets Reigns in the ring and punches him in the head. Owens punches him to the corner. Reigns reverses a whip to the opposite corner, and Owens rolls up the turnbuckles before falling on his head. Reigns hits a sambo suplex that Michael Cole suggests is a Rock Bottom for a near fall. Reigns chokes Owens on the bottom rope and leaves the ring for a Drive-By Dropkick. Reigns pushes Owens into the ring and covers for a near fall. Reigns looks frustrated.

Reigns clubs Owens in the face and applies a rear chin lock. Owens fights up, but Reigns uppercuts him to the corner. Owens throws a desperation chop to keep Reigns back, but Reigns absorbs it. Reigns clubs away at Owens in the corner. Reigns hits the ropes, but Owens punches him in the head. They exchange punches in the center of the ring. Owens punches him, but Reigns boots him back. Owens hits the ropes and drops the Tribal Chief with a stiff clothesline. Owens sends him into the ropes, but he lowers his head and eats a kick. Reigns hits the ropes, but Owens clotheslines him over the top rope. Owens gets on the apron and hits a frog splash to the floor! Owens gets Reigns in the ring and goes to the top rope for another frog splash for a near fall! Paul Heyman and Sami Zayn look worried at ringside.

Owens shouts at Reigns to get up and calls him a “manipulative piece of crap.” Reigns blocks a kick and hits a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Owens slowly gets to his feet and ducks a Superman Punch. Owens hits a German Suplex and gets up. Owens charges, but Reigns drops him with a Superman Punch for a near fall. Zayn leaped up in apparent joy, and the commentators speculate whether that was joy that Owens kicked out or if he was upset that Reigns didn’t win. Reigns sets up for a Spear, but Owens sends him into the ring post shoulder-first. Owens immediately goes to the top rope and hits a Swanton Bomb for a near fall.

Owens goes back to the top rope, but Reigns punches him in the face. Reigns climbs the ropes, but Owens punches him down. Reigns quickly pops back up and goes for a superplex. Owens fights it and hits some head-butts that drops the champion down to the mat. Owens goes for a leaping moonsault, but he slips and falls onto Reigns! Owens is furious and hits Reigns with a senton splash. Owens goes to the second rope for a moonsault, but Reigns moves. Reigns connects with a Spear and covers, but Owens kicks out!

Reigns shouts at the crowd and signals that this is over. Reigns goes for a Spear, but Owens kicks him in the face. Owens goes for a Stunner, but Reigns pushes him off into the referee. Owens hits a Pop-up Powerbomb and covers Reigns. Owens has Reigns pinned for longer than three, but the referee is out. Owens looks for the referee and sees him down at ringside. Reigns drops Owens with a low blow.

Reigns looks at Sami Zayn and shouts at him. Zayn says that Reigns told him to do nothing. Reigns tells Zayn to get a chair. Zayn looks worried and runs to the timekeeper’s area. Heyman tells him that going under the ring is better. Zayn gets a chair from under the ring and hesitates before giving it to Reigns. Owens hits Reigns with a Stunner and covers. The referee is back and counts, but Reigns just barely kicks out. Zayn looks terrified. Owens goes for a Pop-up Powerbomb, but Reigns counters with a Superman Punch. Reigns hits a Spear, but Owens kicks out once again! Reigns is absolutely stunned!

Owens rolls out of the ring to recover, and he is at the feet of Sami Zayn. Zayn looks totally conflicted. Zayn tells Owens to just stay down. Owens grabs at Zayn to get up. Reigns goes outside and gives Owens a Spear through the barricade! Reigns puts Owens in the ring, but Owens rolls back out. Reigns is becoming more and more frustrated. Reigns grabs Owens by the head and slams him back onto the steps! My god that was absolutely brutal! Reigns looks down at the broken Owens… and slams him onto the edge of the steps again!

Reigns gets Owens in the ring. Owens is holding the back of his neck in pain. Zayn looks worried for his former family. Paul Heyman is shouting encouragement to Reigns and tells Zayn to acknowledge him. Zayn puts a finger up in the air, but he looks conflicted still. Owens gets to his feet and slaps Reigns back. Reigns hits a Spear and covers Owens for the victory.

Winner by Pinfall and still Undisputed WWE Universal Champion: Roman Reigns (19:15)

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and Solo Sikoa join Reigns, Heyman, and Zayn in the ring. Jey Uso goes to put a flower lei around Zayn’s neck, but Reigns stops him. Reigns tells The Usos to double-team Owens. Zayn is forced to watch. Reigns wants to see what Zayn will do as The Bloodline destroys his former friend. The Usos hit Owens with the 1D. Reigns puts an arm around Zayn’s shoulders and holds him in position. The Usos put Owens in the corner and put a chair around his head. Solo Sikoa hits a running hip attack into Owens and the chair!

Paul Heyman hands Reigns two pairs of handcuffs. Reigns happily clinks them together before handing one to Jey Uso and the other to Jimmy Uso. Zayn looks conflicted as he watches The Usos handcuff Owens to the top rope. The Usos each take turns superkicking Owens in the face. Owens cannot defend himself. They superkick him over and over again. Zayn looks down and rubs his forehead.

Owens is unconscious, but he’s being held up by the handcuffs on the top rope. Reigns talks trash and taunts Owens with a chair. Reigns goes to swing it, but Zayn stands in his way and tells him to stop. Zayn says Reigns has done all he can and this is beneath him. Zayn says that Owens is done. Reigns hands the chair to Zayn. Zayn shakes his head, but Reigns tells Zayn he wants to do this. Heyman shouts that this is Zayn’s moment. Reigns says they’ve gone too far. Zayn needs to do this. Zayn takes the chair. Reigns says Owens doesn’t care about Zayn and has dragged him down since day one. Reigns says he loves Zayn and has given him everything. Zayn was doing “Jackass s**t” before him. Reigns shouts at Owens. Zayn stands behind Reigns with the chair. Reigns tells him to pull the trigger.

Zayn holds the chair and sadly looks down at it. Zayn looks like he’s tearing up. Reigns pushes his face and screams in Zayn’s face. Zayn sheepishly nods his head.

Zayn prepares to hit Owens before hitting Reigns in the spine to a MASSIVE pop! The crowd goes absolutely wild!

Zayn puts the chair down and looks at The Usos. Jey Uso shouts at him. Jimmy Uso superkicks Zayn down. Heyman is shocked. Reigns slowly gets up and looks furious. Jimmy Uso punches away at Zayn before Sikoa pushes him away. Sikoa pulls Zayn to his feet and hits a Samoan Spike. Jimmy and Sikoa viciously double-team Zayn as Reigns directs traffic. Jey Uso isn’t getting involved. Jimmy Uso shouts that Zayn isn’t Jey’s brother. They are. Jey rolls out of the ring and leaves The Bloodline. Jey sadly rubs his face and walks off on his family!

Reigns is irate and says that Zayn has broken up his family. Reigns viciously unloads on Zayn with vicious chair shots before punching away at him. A loud “F**k you, Roman” chant picks up. Reigns grabs the flower lei and drops petals onto an unconscious Zayn. The “Honorary Uce” shirt is ripped off Zayn’s body. Jimmy superkicks Owens once more for good measure. The depleted Bloodline walks off, leaving an unconscious Owens and Zayn in the ring. The crowd is absolutely irate.
