AEW: Fight Forever Update, EJ Nduka Offered Contract, Adam Cole on Bryan Danielson’s Help for His Return

AEW Fight Forever Update – Game Officially Rated Teen by ESRB

As noted before, AEW and developer Yukes were rumored to be in a dispute with the Entertainment Ratings and Software Board (ESRB) over the content rating for their upcoming Fight Forever video game. The game’s release date was rumored to be in limbo due to this dispute.

The ESRB recently released their official rating for the game revealing that it will be rated T for Teen.

Official rating report:

Rating Summary

This is a wrestling game in which players compete in matches with wrestlers from the AEW roster. Players use punches, kicks, and grappling maneuvers to drain their opponents’ health. In some match types (e.g., Barbed Wire, Stadium Stampede, Unsanctioned) players can use barbed wired, baseball bats, metal chairs, and Molotov cocktails against opponents, eventually resulting in submission and/or knock outs. Blood-splatter effects can occur during matches, staining the mats; video footage of real matches also depicts blood on wrestlers’ faces and bodies. The game contains some mildly suggestive material: female wrestlers in revealing outfits (e.g., deep cleavage, bunny outfits, partially exposed buttocks); wrestlers performing taunting gestures (e.g., crotch chop, slapping buttocks). Real footage sometimes depicts wrestlers drinking alcohol and smoking. The word “sh*t” is heard in the game.

EJ Nduka Reportedly Offered AEW Contract

This past Tuesday’s AEW Dark show featured a singles match between Konosuke Takeshita and former MLW and WWE talent EJ Nduka, which was won by Takeshita. This match was taped this past January as part of AEW’s most recent set of Dark tapings in Orlando, Florida.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that AEW officials offered Nduka a full-time contract with the company following his match with Takeshita. Meltzer reported that it is currently not known if Nduka has signed the contract or not as of this past Thursday.

Adam Cole Comments on Bryan Danielson Being “Very Helpful” with His Injury Return

A recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio featured Adam Cole as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cole revealing that Bryan Danielson was very helpful with his recent recovery process and return from head injury to AEW.

“I did. I briefly talked to him, and he obviously has a ton of information regarding that entire process. He was very helpful, very giving with information, just wanted to make sure that I was doing some of the right things to get back and feel healthy. He was great.”

Cole also stated that Danielson being able to have many great matches since his own in-ring return from retirement due to concussion-related issues was a big source of motivation for his own return.

“That was incredibly motivating. I know me and Bryan’s situations were, obviously there’s some similarities, but they were also very different, all at the same time. But it was motivating to me to think, ‘Okay, he was told, “You are not gonna step into a ring again. It’s just not gonna happen.” Then Bryan did everything he possibly could to get to a point where now a bunch of doctors are saying, ‘Yeah, you’re good to go. You’re ready to go.’ He’s proven that now, week after week, just having absolutely incredible matches. So yeah, Bryan was very helpful.”
