Powerhouse Hobbs Comments on TNT Championship Victory

As noted before, this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Sacramento, California featured Powerhouse Hobbs defeating Wardlow in a Falls Count Anywhere match for the TNT Championship.

Following the show, AEW held a digital exclusive backstage interview with Hobbs discussing his thoughts on his TNT Championship victory.

“Since we’re in California, I’m gonna get the hell out of this shithole, Sacramento, and take my ass back to Oakland. You suck, the Sacramento Queens suck. Like I said last week, there’s a new chapter in the Book of Hobbs, and it’s the TNT Championship. Now have a good night, and kiss my black ass.”

More on AEW’s Decision for All-Atlantic Championship Name Change

As noted before, AEW recently announced that their AEW All-Atlantic Championship will now be officially known as the AEW International Championship going forward.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that a name change for the All-Atlantic Championship had been something that was in the works by AEW officials for “quite some time.”

In regards for the reason for the name change, it was reported that Warner Bros Discovery officials had asked AEW for “something big” to promote their upcoming Shazam: Fury of the Gods film. AEW CEO Tony Khan reportedly had the idea for the All-Atlantic Championship belt to be “leveled up” as part of AEW’s promotion for the new film. This new belt reportedly had been made months ago in order to be ready in time for next week’s show and promotion for WBD’s film.

It was reported that those spoken to stated that AEW is “always excited” to promote things for WBD and have newsworthy events in association. AEW officials wanted something newsworthy to take place for their debut show in Winnipeg and also wanted to increase the prestige of their All-Atlantic title.


AEW News & Notes

This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Sacramento, California featured a TNT Championship Falls Count Anywhere between Powerhouse Hobbs and champion Wardlow, which was won by Hobbs. Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that AEW officials made a major change to their originals plans for the TNT Championship match at the show. It was reported that these original plans did not include for the match to be held under No DQ, Falls Count Anywhere rules.

Fightful Select also reported that their sources stated that the recent set of title changes for the TNT Championship was something that had been tentatively decided upon months ahead and not done as a last minute change or pivot.

QT Marshall recently shared text messages he had with Powerhouse Hobbs in June of 2020 that led to his signing with AEW and him being a big supporter of Hobbs backstage since then.

AEW recently launched a new website called Quality TV News that promises to bring fans the “real dirt from AEW.” It was announced that the first episode of QTV will debut during next week’s Dynamite show. Following several weeks of mystery vignettes, QT Marshall revealed himself as the mastermind of QTV during this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show.

AEW recently announced that former AEW talent Stu Grayson will be making an appearance at their March 15th Dynamite show in Winnipeg, Canada. It was announced that Grayson will be reuniting and teaming with Hangman Adam Page and Evil Uno in a Trios match against Blackpool Combat Club (Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, & Jon Moxley).

AEW also recently announced that they will be holding a new set of AEW Dynamite and Rampage shows on May 31st at the Viejas Arena in San Jose, California. It was also announced that this will be AEW’s debut in the city and tickets will officially go on sale starting on March 17th.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that MJF was not seen in attendance backstage during this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and Rampage tapings in Sacramento. Johnson reported that MJF was seen in Las Vegas, Nevada that night.

MJF recently posted a photo on Twitter revealing that he suffered a swollen eye injury in the days following his 60 Minutes Iron Man match for the AEW World Championship at this past Sunday’s AEW Revolution 2023 event.

Clothing brand Rucking Fotten recently released a limited edition House of Black shirt on their online store. It was announced that this limited edition shirt will only be available for sale for the next 72 hours and the rest of their House of Black clothing collection will be officially revealed later today.
