As noted before, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks’ Nick and Matt Jackson’s contracts with AEW are currently set to expire this year. Omega’s contract was originally set to expire as early as this past February but was extended to cover the time he was away from the company due to injury-related reasons.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that AEW officials are currently working on signing both Omega and the Young Bucks to new long-term deals with the company.
Meltzer speculated that should a new deal not be reached, the Young Bucks likely might join WWE albeit at the cost of a less favorable work schedule and performing in less matches with people that can work in their style of tag team wrestling. In regards to Omega, Meltzer also speculated that he might also join WWE but it would also officially close the door to his current plans for a return to New Japan Pro Wrestling.
