As noted before, Ronda Rousey recently suffered an arm injury but is currently not expected to be out of action for next month’s WrestleMania 39 event. Prior to her injury, WWE had been working on plans for Rousey and Shayna Baszler to be the official challengers for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at the event.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that WWE officials recently made several changes to their plans for Rousey at WrestleMania 39. WWE officials reportedly still have plans for Rousey to compete at the event but this will no longer involve the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and instead be a different match.
Meltzer reported that WWE also recently dropped their plans for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles to be defended at the event. Prior to the changes, WWE had been working on plans for the champions to work both nights of WrestleMania 39 with the first night’s match being the Six-Woman Tag Team match between Damage CTRL and Becky Lynch, Lita, & Trish Stratus and second night’s match being for the tag titles.
