Darby Allin vs. Swerve Strickland

Pyro kicks us off before Darby Allin makes his way to the ring for our opening contest! Out next is the Mogul Embassy’s Swerve Strickland, and this match is underway!

Darby refuses to have any of Swerve’s nonsense, unloading a flurry of offense on him before Swerve avoids a Coffin Drop attempt…only for Darby to hit a senton dive to the outside on him instead! Swerve slides in and out of the ring to avoid Allin, finally catching him off guard to drop him to the floor. Swerve looks to follow up but Darby is back to his feet, turning things around as he sends Swerve to the barricade!

Darby grabs the steel steps, but needs to break the ten count before following up…and this gives Swerve an opening to drop him back-first onto the steps instead! Swerve is able to follow up on this, but only gets a nearfall off the back of it.

Swerve goes after the belt of Darby, pulling it clean off before whipping it against Allin’s back! We see Sammy Guevara watching from the back as the ref is admonishing Swerve for this but it gets ignored by Strickland, only for Darby to take him down to finally bring this to a stop. Darby with a nearfall, but Swerve not only kicks out but starts turning things around on his opponent before hitting a nasty switch kick for another nearfall!

Swerve’s frustration is evident as he gets to his feet, with Darby slowly crawling to the ropes to help himself up. Swerve intercepts, only for Darby to take a bite out of his head…to which Swerve responds with another big kick and a double foot stomp on the apron as we go to picture-in-picture!

Picture-in-Picture: Swerve seems to retreat up the ramp at first feeling the effects of that stomp on his feet, but comes back to the ring to go back after Darby with some forearms to the head. Darby tries his best to fight back but Swerve continues to overwhelm him, locking in a torture rack before dropping to a knee to add more impact on Darby…but even this is only enough for a nearfall! Swerve continues the attack with some big locks, but Darby is fighting back as best he can…only to be taken to the corner by Swerve as we return!

Swerve hits a big Flatliner before climbing the ropes…but Darby intercepts, setting him up in a tree of woe and TAKING A BITE OUT OF SWERVE’S FOOT! The ref has to intercede here and Darby finally backs off, before locking in a leglock on Swerve…who manages to reverse out, looking for a German suplex! Darby blocks it before the two trade blows, only to get taken for a ride with a German suplex by Swerve as Jungle Boy watches on from backstage.

Both men are down in the ring, but Darby goes for a cover and gets a nearfall. He follows up with a kneebar on Strickland, who climbs his way to the ropes to force a break. Darby climbs the ropes, but gets intercepted by Swerve who pulls Darby off the top turnbuckle onto his shoulders…only for Darby to hit a poison rana on him, sending Swerve to the outside!

Darby brings Swerve back to the ring and goes for the cover, but Prince Nana comes running down the ramp to put Swerve’s foot on the bottom rope. Nana backs up the ramp as Darby pursues him, only for Brian Cage to stop the chase in its tracks. Darby slides back into the ring, where he takes a big kick and a double stomp from Swerve…but only for a nearfall!

Cage tries to get involved by tripping up Darby as Swerve heads to the outside, but the Embassy is ejected by the ref! Swerve looks for a steel chair shot to Darby but gets caught with a Last Supper to give Darby the pin and the win!

Winner via pinfall: Darby Allin

In-Ring: MJF, Darby Allin, Sting

Darby’s music barely gets to play before it’s interrupted by the arrival of AEW World Champion MJF! The champ makes his way down the ramp as we go to commercial.

We’re back and MJF is ready to speak with mic in hand, interrupting the crowd to give Darby credit where it’s due. The crowd shows their appreciation, and MJF says it was especially inspiring since Darby’s “daddy” Sting wasn’t out at ringside. MJF talks about the match they had at Full Gear 2021, and that Darby is one of the best he’s faced. But he has two words that will prove that he is MJF and…only to cut himself off to insult the crowd for doing his catchphrase. His two words? Headlock takeover. MJF continues to run Darby down, saying he’s not on the level of the Devil.

Darby has a microphone of his own, asking if MJF is happy. He reflects upon MJF’s past statement of “when I make it to national television, all my problems will go away.” He goes into his own issues when he started in AEW, including the therapy he checked himself into. He learned to stop worrying about himself and to help others including his parents. He tells MJF this is just a fifteen minute ride, but he refuses to get off said ride. He’s not like MJF, not going to lower his morals to be somebody in this world…so if MJF has something to say, keep talking. This gets a big chant from the crowd.

MJF calls Darby an arrogant little boy, asking if he thinks he’s special before saying he is sick and tired of Darby and Jack and Sammy caring about MJF’s morals, stating that morals kill careers. MJF thinks Darby is a gutless coward because he doesn’t have what it takes to make sacrifices to get ahead…but MJF doesn’t care about any of that, because he is at the top. MJF is willing to do whatever it takes to stay ahead, and leave a legacy as being the greatest of all time. Darby can keep his morals, because Darby’s legacy will be that of Sting’s b***h…a statement that manages to bring out the Icon himself!

Sting makes his way down to the ring, getting the crowd pumped before staring down the champ. Sting doesn’t get the “Daddy Day Care” comments from before, seeing himself as more of a cheerleader as he pulls out a pom pom, smacking the champ with it. Sting says he has a fever, and the only cure is…more pom poms. After this bit of silliness, Sting addresses the idea of being a support system for Darby like Cody was a support system for MJF…and like Ric Flair was a support for the early “surfer” Sting.

Sting goes into his other “past lives” before admitting that he has no hunger for the AEW World Championship, and that Showtime is nearly over for Sting…but just starting for Darby Allin, who Sting assures will be AEW World Champion!

Darby says this plastic world has not taken him, stating that he will leave it as a very different man…but most notably, the AEW World Champion! MJF spits on Darby before retreating out of the ring and up the ramp, leaving us with a cheering crowd and Sting and Darby in the ring as we go to commercial.

TNT Championship
Powerhouse Hobbs (c) vs. Silas Young

We’re back at ringside, and Powerhouse Hobbs makes his way to the ring for the TNT Championship open challenge up next! We get a video from Friday night about Hobbs and his car before this match gets underway!

Silas gets overpowered really quick by Hobbs, who takes him down with a clothesline and a big spinebuster before putting Silas away with an inverted death valley driver for the pin and the win!

Winner via pinfall AND STILL TNT Champion: Powerhouse Hobbs

Segment: Wardlow, Powerhouse Hobbs

After the match, QT and Hobbs grab Silas looking to do more damage until Wardlow is seen in the parking lot, taking his anger out on Hobbs’s fancy new car! Wardlow takes out the windshield before grabbing a forklift to finish the job on the side window, much to the dismay of Hobbs and QTV as Wardlow uses the forklift to tip the car over!

Wardlow leaves the forklift which moves forward for even more damage, and Hobbs looks to take Silas down with a powerbomb on the outside to a table until Wardlow’s music hits! The two go at it before officials come out to break things up, but Wardlow drops Aaron Solo to the stage…before hitting a powerbomb sending Solo through the table!

AEW International Championship
Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Buddy Matthews

Back at ringside, Buddy Matthews makes his way to the ring for our next match! Out next is the champ himself, Orange Cassidy, as we’re reminded of what Buddy has done to Cassidy’s right hand to weaken the Orange Punch’s effect. After a moment, this match gets underway!

Buddy stares down the champ as we kick this match off, to which the champ obliges before threatening the hands in pockets, which Buddy doesn’t take kindly to! Buddy is overwhelmed by a flurry of offense by Cassidy, who does what he was set out to do with the pockets before sending Buddy out of the ring with a dive to follow! Orange up top but gets caught in midair, reversing with a hurricanrana and a big DDT…and an Orange Punch! Buddy is down rolling to the corner, but Cassidy’s hand is feeling the effects of the impact as a doctor is called to check on him.

The doctor continues to check but is interrupted by Buddy stomping that injured hand as we go to picture-in-picture!

Picture-in-Picture: Buddy continues the attack for a moment longer, finally stepping back as the ref and doctor continue to check on the champ’s hand. They appear to be telling Cassidy he cannot continue, but Orange shirks it off before Buddy goes back on the attack, razor sharp in his focus on that weak hand as he twists it around the ropes before grinding his boot against it before we come back!

Buddy keeps on tops of things even after OC tries to fight back, but the champ goes for another whirlwind DDT that gets blocked by Buddy…who ends up being sent to the turnbuckle instead by Cassidy! Orange climbs up to the second rope for a fist drop but takes a kick by Buddy, before responding with some more offense….before Buddy connects with a knee to the face!

The two continue to fight it out on the apron until the champ manages to connect with a Beach Break onto the apron, taking both men to the outside as a result! The ref begins the count, and we get to nine before both men narrowly slide into the ring to stop it! They slowly get to their knees before trading blows, slowly making it up to their feet before Buddy gets the upper hand. Buddy follows up by standing right on the injured hand of the champ, causing even more damage in the process!

Buddy now taunts the champs with the “dangerous kicks” that Orange does so well, but Orange raises a hand to stop him before settling his hands into his pockets…only to take a kick to the face! Buddy looks to follow up on it but gets taken down with a Stun Dog Millionaire by the champ instead. Buddy gets to the top after he recovers but takes an elbow strike by Cassidy, only to block the champ on the top rope…which leads into a big DDT off the ropes by Orange, who hits another one via tope through the ropes to the outside!

Orange sets Buddy up and hits a diving DDT off the ropes, but only gets a nearfall for his troubles! Buddy rises to his feet as Orange looks for the Orange Punch, but that gets blocked! Orange reverses the offense by Buddy after this, but still only gets a nearfall as he hits another Orange Punch…which ALSO gets just a nearfall!

Buddy taunts the champ to punch him again, but manages to grab his hand and wrenches it before hitting a knee to the face of Cassidy! The champ tries to taunt Buddy but we find that he was playing possum…and pays for it as Buddy gets a nearfall. Buddy looks to follow up but gets caught in a Mouse Trap by the champ, who picks up the pin and the win!

Winner via pinfall AND STILL AEW International Champion: Orange Cassidy

Promo: Christian Cage & Luchasaurus

Video Package: Christian Cage with a scary Luchasaurus assures us that “some things have changed.”

Backstage: Best Friends & Orange Cassidy

We come back to the champ and the Best Friends backstage, where Chuck and Trent assure us that Orange is fine before addressing Aussie Open and challenge them to a match on Rampage!

In-Ring: Ethan Page, Matt Hardy, Isiah Kassidy, The Firm, Jeff Hardy

Back at ringside, Ethan Page is in the ring to address some issues with The Firm including Matt Hardy attacking him with the FTW title, Hook beating up Stokely Hathaway, and…the fact he looks better than everyone in the crowd. Ethan needs answers, he needs to know why Matt attacked him and what was in that contract.

Isiah and Hardy come out to the stage to address this, where Hardy says Ethan has to read the fine print. Hardy reveals that if Hook defeats Ethan, then Hardy and Isiah are no longer under the dominion of The Firm, and Matt gets to name a match and stipulation where when they win, they are no longer under contract. Ethan replies to this by pointing out that Ethan and Stokely aren’t the only ones in the firms, which brings out Lee Moriarty and Big Bill.

The Firm beat up on Hardy and Isiah until Hook makes his way out to even the odds! Hook takes down Ethan and Lee, but struggles looking to throw Big Bill allowing Ethan and Lee to come after him as well…

Until Jeff Hardy’s music hits! Jeff doesn’t waste time dancing, as he’s got a steel chair and makes his way down to deal with The Firm! Twist of Fate and a Swanton Bomb keeps The Firm at bay as Jeff celebrates with his new and old friends and the crowd.

Video Promo: Kenny Omega

Recap: The onslaught of Blackpool Combat Club

Earlier Today: Kenny Omega thanks the fans for their support and the doctors for their help, saying the issue between The Elite and the BCC would be settled in the ring…but hurting Don crossed a line, as Kenny takes that personally.

Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli) vs. Brandon Cutler & Michael Nakazawa

Back at ringside, BCC make their way to the ring for our next match as we go to picture-in-picture!

Picture-in-Picture: BCC go through the crowd as they are want to do, finally getting to ringside in what has become something of a weekly tradition for the Combat Club before they get in the ring to get ready for their upcoming match as we return!

Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa make their way out next before being intercepted by the BCC! They attack the pair brutally, with Claudio even busting Nakazawa open before regrouping with Mox in the ring. Nakazawa crawls in the ring and this match finally gets underway!

Claudio stomps at a still-bloody Nakazawa, who tries to fight back to the delight of the crowd as he goes after the ROH Champion with some elbows and other strikes to remind the big man that he is NOT just “comedy relief”…but Claudio knocks him down, sending Nakazawa on a ride with a Giant Swing before locking in a Sharpshooter! Michael is hurt bad but Brandon runs in to attack Claudio with punches, only to be sent out of the ring!

Claudio turns his attention back to Nakazawa looking for the Neutralizer, but Michael reverses with a back body drop before making the tag to Brandon! Claudio gets a tag to Mox, who gets extra brutal as he busts Cutler open as well…and Mox hits a King Kong Lariat and a Death Rider, only to lock in the bulldog choke on Cutler…but Nakazawa breaks it up!

This sends Claudio in and chaos ensues, forcing the ref to call for the bell!

Result: No Contest

In-Ring: Blackpool Combat Club, Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks

Mox rushes out to get a mic, calling out the Young Bucks, Omega, and Don Callis as the beatdown continues. Mox says BCC puts the Elite in All Elite Wrestling, and this draws out Kenny Omega!

Omega stares them down from the ramp as The Young Bucks slide in to make a sneak attack on BCC! They are especially focused on Mox, hitting a BTE Trigger on Mox before Omega brings in a gear case that he lifts up…but the Bucks stop him from using it, only to offer him a flathead screwdriver as revenge for what BCC did to Hangman Page!

Mox manages to evade disaster before this happens, regrouping with BCC in the crowd as The Elite’s music hits.

Backstage: The Mogul Embassy (Swerve Strickland, Brian Cage, Prince Nana)

Backstage, Tony Schiavone talks to the Mogul Embassy, as Swerve addresses the match he had tonight before saying there are still unsettled scores to take care of in AEW!

The Outcasts (Toni Storm & Ruby Soho) vs. Riho & Skye Blue

We start off with chaos as Skye and Toni go at it, before both are able to make tags…and Soho hits a big kick for a nearfall. Riho fights back before tagging in Skye again, and the pair clear out the Outcasts from the ring as we go to picture-in-picture!

Picture-in-Picture: Despite this teamwork before, Skye and Riho get overwhelmed by the Outcasts as Ruby Soho goes to work on Riho in the corner, tagging Toni in before they double team the former Women’s Champion. Toni stays on the attack, sending Riho into the corner before hitting a snap suplex and tags Ruby back in. Ruby slams Riho against the turnbuckle before taunting Skye on the apron…and takes a punch by Riho as a result! Ruby doesn’t take kindly to this, really laying into Riho before taking her down with a headlock that transitions into a chinlock as we come back!

Riho fights to her feet, reversing a Destination Unknown into a nearfall! Skye tags in, and goes after Ruby as Toni hits a blind tag…and then blindsides Skye Blue as Saraya checks on Ruby at ringside. Ruby intercepts Skye Blue, but the latter hits a big hurricanrana on Toni on the outside before following with a cross body back in the ring for a nearfall!

Riho gets involved as more chaos ensues, with the Outcasts coming out on top as Toni hits a hip attack and the Storm Zero for the pin and the win!

Winners via pinfall: Toni Storm & Ruby Soho

The Outcasts attack their opponents after the match, whipping out the spray paint to give the L to Riho before hitting a triple powerbomb on the former Women’s Champion! They look proud of their work until Jamie Hayter hits the ring, only to be attacked by the Outcasts until Britt Baker comes out next!

The doctor is in, and she goes after the Outcasts like a storm until Saraya gets involved. Baker nearly stomps her but Soho and Storm bring her out of the ring for the save, leaving them to regroup up the ramp.

Chris Jericho vs. Keith Lee

We’re back at ringside and it is time for our main event! Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring first, followed by Keith Lee, and this main event is underway!

The crowd chants in support of Keith Lee, much to Jericho’s chagrin as Lee stares him down. Jericho hits a chop but Lee seems unfazed by the series that follows, dropping Jericho with a shoulder tackle before giving the former World Champion a little kiss on the forehead! Jericho seems slightly shaken by this by Lee continues the attack, bringing Jericho to the corner before laying in some chops.

Jericho blocks an overhead chop before turning things around with some chops of his own, only to be taken down by the bigger Limitless One. Lee brings him back to the corner twice over, and hits a big corner splash to drop the Sports Entertainer down hard. Lee continues the offense before hitting a big scoop slam, climbing up the ropes until Daniel Garcia interrupts him…leading Jericho to knock down to the apron before hitting a springboard dropkick as we go to picture-in-picture!

Picture-in-Picture: Lee is forced to recover on the floor as Jericho distracts the ref, allowing Garcia to get in a few shots on Keith before Jericho comes out to do even more damage. Jericho sends Lee to the ring post and then to the barricade, before the action finally makes its way back into the ring. Jericho hits Keith from the middle rope to keep him grounded to the canvas, laying in some hard boots before bringing Keith to the ropes where he leans into him with a boot to the back. Jericho lays in some punches before taunting the crowd as we come back!

Jericho continues both the attack and the smack talk as Keith gets back to his feet, where Jericho hits a couple chops until Keith stops him. Jericho blocks further offense before hitting a Lionsault, but Keith Lee kicks out with authority! Jericho stays on the attack with some boots and elbow strikes, but gets taken down with a big lariat and a shoulder tackle as Keith is still in the fight!

Keith looks for a Beale throw but is blocked by Daniel Garcia as Jericho tries to blindside him…but this only leads to a brief bearhug before Jericho fights out of it, only to get taken back down with a shoulder tackle! Keith looks for a powerbomb but gets rolled up by Jericho, only for a nearfall though!

Jericho fights back for a moment but ends up taking a POOOUNCE by Keith Lee that sends Jericho to the ropes! Keith brings him to the middle of the ring and climbs up for a moonsault…but hits the knees of Jericho instead! This did a bit of damage to Jericho though, and Keith takes him down once again getting a nearfall in the process.

Keith looking for a powerbomb again, but gets an eyepoke from Jericho who looks for the Walls of Jericho! Jericho locks it in! Keith is struggling here, crawling toward the ropes as Daniel shouts at him from ringside…but despite Jericho’s efforts, Keith gets to the ropes!

Garcia tries to argue that Lee tapped as Jericho goes back to work on Keith Lee…who sends him across the ring with the Beale throw! Garcia tries to get involved but gets sent in the hard way by Lee, who takes him and Jericho down with a clothesline! Jericho’s in the corner as Lee goes for a splash, but Jericho dodges…only for the Codebreaker to get blocked, and reversed into a massive sitout powerbomb by Keith Lee!

Garcia rushes into the ring to distract the ref, allowing a masked Swerve Strickland to attack Keith Lee with an object before hightailing it out of the area as Jericho slowly, gingerly gets the cover…just barely getting the pin and the win.

Winner via pinfall: Chris Jericho

The masked man reveals himself in the crowd to definitely be Swerve as we see Jericho and Garcia celebrating…until Adam Cole makes his way to the ring! Cole checks on Lee, and the pair eventually make their way up the ramp as the show comes to a close.
