Bushwhacker Butch Passes Away at Age 78

Wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Bushwhacker Butch, real name Robert Miller, passed away today at the age of 78.

Miller’s passing was first announced by his WWE Hall of Famer tag team partner Bushwhacker Luke on Facebook.

Prior to his passing, Miller had suffered a medical emergency incident and was hospitalized this past weekend in Los Angeles, California. Miller had traveled from his home in New Zealand to participate in WrestleCon’s WrestleManai 39 weekend conventions in the city and fell ill shortly after his arrival.

Miller’s career included notable stints in All-Star Pro Wrestling (NWA New Zealand), Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, Continental Wrestling Association, Universal Wrestling Federation, and WWE.

As The Sheepherders, Miller was most known for the memorable bloody and brutal feud with The Fabulous Ones during his time in CWA. As the Bushwhackers, Miller was most known for his time in WWE portraying a fan favorite comedy style face team.

In terms of notable accolades, Miller was a one-time CWA International Tag Team Champion, one-time IWA Tag Team Champion, one-time NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champion, three-time NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Champion, two-time UWF World Tag Team Champion, and inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame (2015) and Professional Wrestling Hall of Hame (2020).
