As noted before, Mercedes Mone recently signed a contract extension with Bushiroad for New Japan Pro Wrestling and Stardom. While the exact terms of this new extension are currently not known, it is believed to include at least one more date and event, which was later revealed by Mone for NJPW’s Resurgence 2023 event this May in Long Beach, California.
NJPW recently confirmed that Mone will be making an appearance for the company at this upcoming event.
Fightful Select reported that their sources close to Mone stated that she currently does not have any dates remaining on her contract for Stardom. It was reported that the two sides are currently open to the idea of doing more business together in the future. It was also reported that while Stardom officials have been happy with the business that Mone has conjured up for the company, they currently feel that any new deal for additional dates would likely require a bigger renegotiation due to the big business she had drawn for them.
Those spoken to close to Mone reportedly confirmed that her contract extension currently only covers NJPW’s upcoming Resurgence 2023 event in the United States. Those spoken to within NJPW stated that they were not sure how long Mone’s current deal runs until but that there were not any additional matches scheduled for her in Japan for “at least a while.”
Those spoken to with NJPW and Stardom reportedly had positive things to say about Mercedes being backstage at their shows. Those spoken to reportedly also stated that they believed it had seemed like she has enjoyed her experience there.
