New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Crowned at Monday’s RAW Show, Trish Stratus Heel Turn

Monday’s WWE RAW show in Seattle, Washington featured a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship between Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez and champions Becky Lynch & Trish Stratus, which was won by Morgan & Rodriguez.

Prior to their match, a backstage segment featured the aftermath of Lite being attacked by an unseen mysterious person. Morgan and Rodriguez attended to Lita while yelling out for help. Lynch arrived shortly afterwards and blamed Morgan and Rodriguez over her belief that they had attacked Lita in order to improve their odds for their upcoming title match, which Morgan and Rodriguez denied being true. Stratus then appeared stating that she would be willing to team up with Lynch to defend the Women’s Tag Team titles on the show.

Following Morgan and Rodriguez’s championship victory, Stratus launched a sneak attack on Lynch after the two had a post-match talk and hug in the ring.

Following the show, WWE held a digital exclusive backstage interview with Morgan and Raquel. One of the topics discussed included Morgan and Raquel’s thoughts on their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship victory.

Raquel Rodriguez – “Cathy, it has been a long, long day, but I think it’s safe to say that we went out there, and we gave it everything we got. We came here to fight, we came here to win titles, and we are going home champions.”

Liv Morgan – “There’s not many times that I’m left speechless, but literally I have nothing to say. I’m just grateful, I’m so grateful. I’m so happy and proud to be your partner. Thank you so much. I never thought that we’d ever pin Trish Stratus to become new champions. Being a champion in WWE means more to me than anything, anything else in the world, so I’m just so happy. I’m so grateful.”

Morgan and Rodriguez also gave their thoughts on Lita being attacked by a mysterious person earlier in the show.

Morgan – “This whole day has been a whirlwind. Between getting accused of attacking Lita, which we would never, ever, ever do, no matter how bad we wanted these [titles], so from being accused, seeing Trish turn on Becky, I don’t know. It’s been an interesting day, and it’s also none of my business. All I know is that we’re leaving here the new tag team champions.”

Rodriguez – “[We are] respectable champions because we came out here, we played fair, and we didn’t do anything that was against our own good moral compass to win these titles, so I am proud of everything we have done today. I’m proud of Liv, and I’m so happy to call her my tag team partner and co-champion.”
