Hiroshi Tanahashi Suffers Rib Injury, Pulled from NJPW Collision in Philadelphia 2023 Event

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced earlier today that Hiroshi Tanahashi suffered an injury at their Capital Collision 2023 event on Saturday in Washington, D.C.

It was also announced that as a result of his injury, they have pulled him from the card of tonight’s Collision in Philadelphia 2023 event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

It was also announced that due to TJP also dealing with travel related issues, the previously scheduled match of Tanahashi, Lio Rush, & Tomohiro Ishii vs. United Empire (TJP & Aussie Open) will now be a NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship match of Rush & Ishii vs. Aussie Open (c)

Following NJPW’s announcement, Tanahashi stated on Twitter that he had suffered a rib injury and went to the hospital for medical treatment.

NJPW Announces Storyline Suspension for Juice Robinson & Match Change for IWGP U.S. Title Tournament

Besides Hiroshi Tanahashi’s injury and TJP’s absence, NJPW also announced that they have made two additional changes to the card of tonight’s Collision in Philadelphia 2023 event in Philadelphia.

These new changes were announced to be due to Juice Robinson being issued a “suspension” over his actions against Fred Rosser during Saturday’s Capital Collision 2023 event in Washington D.C.

It was announced that as a result of Robinson’s suspension, Rosser will now be replacing Robinson for his scheduled First Round match against Lance Archer for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship tournament at the event.

It was also announced that the previously scheduled tag team match of Rosser & Rocky Romero vs. SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru will now be a tag team match of Homicide & Rocky Romero vs SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru at the event.
