Nigel McGuinness, Vincent, & Dutch Make Surprise Returns at Supercard of Honor 2023
Ring of Honor’s Supercard of Honor 2023 event on Friday in Los Angeles, California featured Nigel McGuinness making his surprise return to the company.
During the Zero Hour pre-show, ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni stated that there would be a surprise guest for tonight’s commentary team, which was revealed to be McGuinness. This was McGuinness’ first appearance in ROH since December of 2016.

Supercard of Honor 2023 also featured Vincent and Dutch making their surprise returns to the company. Following Stu Grayson’s victory over Slim J, Vincent and Dutch made their surprise appearance and confronted the Dark Order’s Evil Uno and Grayson.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that while both Vincent and Dutch were invited and worked at a WWE tryout this past December, they were never signed to WWE contracts for reasons currently not known. WWE officials reportedly had plans for both to be members of Bray Wyatt’s planned Wyatt 6 group before those plans were dropped.
Naomi & EJ Nduka Reportedly Were Backstage at Supercard of Honor 2023
Former WWE talent Naomi, real name Trinity Fatu, reportedly was seen in attendance backstage at ROH’s Supercard of Honor 2023 event, according to Fightful Select.
Former Major League Wrestling talent EJ Nduka reportedly was also seen in attendance backstage at the event, according to PWInsider.
New ROH Tag Team Titles Design Officially Revealed
As noted before, ROH owner Tony Khan stated in a recent interview with the Battlegrounds podcast that ROH would be retiring their current ROH World Tag Team Championship and debuting a new design for the belts at Friday’s Supercard of Honor 2023 event in Los Angeles, California.
Prior to the start of the Reach For The Sky Ladder match for the ROH World Tag Team Championship, ROH officially revealed the new design for their Tag Team titles.

Original Plans for Will Ospreay at Supercard of Honor 2023
As noted before, ROH owner Tony Khan stated in a media call this past Thursday that he originally had plans for New Japan Pro Wrestling talent Will Ospreay to make an appearance at ROH’s Supercard of Honor 2023 event prior to him suffering a shoulder injury.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Khan had planned for Konosuke Takeshita to be Ospreay’s opponent at the event.
